@AlanJLSmith Spent 30m talking to @VodafoneUKBiz chat today to find out if they could put fibre broadband in my office. Multiple pastes of the same analogue line deal & apologies for misunderstanding. I’ll never go back. Felt like AI. If not AI they can afford to offload these staff anyway!

@rupertmiller @AlanJLSmith @abrdnAdv_UK The longer term plan is for it to be absorbed in to the main wrap, retaining two price points and functionalities but under one roof. They’re both now FNZ powered which makes it easier from here. This is just what I’ve been told and plans at these places often change!

Several DFMs offer this which is the most typical method for LLs.

@AlanJLSmith To be honest they provide (or used to provide) leverage on client portfolios (lombard loans) which is where the IFA can't compete. However there is a way round this now- some big banks now are offering leverage without having to invest in their funds . which is great

Just remembered that we lost out to Credit Suisse wealth management for a potential client a couple of years ago - they preferred the ‘security of a big brand name’ 🤦🏻

@HatTipNick Was there not a benefit to HMRC in the allowance in that it meant small dividends from shares did not need to be reported. This saved time for HMRC in not managing as many tax returns? They're going to need some more staff i would have thought.

1/2) The pitiful Dividend Allowance was introduced by the Conservatives, and they've overseen its 90% reduction since then. Might as well get rid and tax business creators on every penny.
