@testbot1972 @T1000_V2 @nightwriter22 That would be so beautiful but he’s one of the pioneers of digital shooting. So I’m not sure but I would love him to shoot on 35mm film again

HEAT 2 will not begin filming for some months. Michael Mann is still in the process of having all ducks in a row before rolling the cameras in Los Angeles, Chicago, Paraguay, and Singapore in August, citing the project's complexity in terms of budgeting, casting, and location scouting. To acquire the desired budget, he moved the film from Warner Bros. to Amazon and United Artists, which is close to $200 million. But Mann isn't concerned about theatrical distribution because he says Amazon is in transition, which means Mann is getting HEAT 2 to stay on the big screen for 45 days. That explains why the studio also purchased Bond. Leonardo DiCaprio and Christian Bale are confirmed to star in HEAT 2. Other stars that could join are the following: - Adam Driver - Austin Butler - Ana de Armas - Al Pacino

@spacedonkey_666 @CinemaTweets1 Apparently he was high on coke to get into character in heat, which you can kinda tell from his screaming scenes. Crazy enough I think his acting is really good in heat. But I much prefer him in Scarface and the godfather. Much more subtle and yet perfect

@CinemaTweets1 Does anyone know when, and more importantly why, Pacino changed his approach to acting from 'less is more' to 'scream and stomp around like a dervish'?

54 years of The Godfather have left me still wondering why/how Al Pacino didn’t win an Oscar for playing Michael Corleone, but at this point, does it even matter? If aliens ever take over this planet & ask for an example of what acting is, I would show them this exact clip.

@brightdio @RealEmirHan I agree, but most of the yelling from tom cruise was egging on jack Nicholson to get him to confess out of anger

Tom Cruise accomplished something rare opposite Jack Nicholson in A Few Good Men, he never looked weak. Where most actors might shrink, he stayed composed, but always on the edge of exploding. Cruise called it “working toward lightning in a bottle.” Watching Nicholson, he said, “He was finding his character. Every movement slowed. He became more centered,” adding, “He has command over his body and his voice, and he knows the camera.”

Ken Leung is a brilliant actor. His work on HBO’s Industry is worthy of tremendous praise. If there’s one thing I wish #ProjectHailMary had more of, it’s this guy. He’s a lifetime actor who elevates every project he touches. More people should know this man’s name. Actor’s actor.

@YahBrito91 @ATR3lDES Psssh you could be filming for weeks and it only equals a minute in the movie, it does take a long time and a lot of hours

@ATR3lDES They forget these actors have pr and management teams that keeps them talking about them in the media. Plus being on a set is actually really hard, you could be filming for over two hours. And it's only about 15 mins in the movie

@Dayo94253816 @FilmUpdates @GALAfr Sidelines? It’s her wedding, being a bridesmaid isn’t a sideline. What is Beyoncé supposed to be getting married to tom? This is crazy

@FilmUpdates @GALAfr Hunter makes sense but Beyoncé as a bridesmaid is wild. Queen Bey's not standing on the sideline for anyone. That's fantasy energy but Zendaya's taste in people is impeccable.

Before Dafne Keen was cast in Logan (2017), Millie Bobby Brown auditioned for X 23 and even screen tested with Hugh Jackman. James Mangold chose to make the character a child instead of a teenager, pushing against the usual sexualized portrayal of young superheroes.

@MovieAddictMatt @nightwriter22 16:9 or 4:3 is the best ratios, they can fit so much. 2.39 is for a more “cinematic” look which is bs cause you can tell most DPs aren’t great at framing for something that narrow

@MovieAddictMatt @nightwriter22 Nah this is bs, I honestly prefer the boxier ratio, it looks better and it’s so much easier to frame. Ngl most of the Audience doesn’t notice either. Like some people don’t even see it changing from 16:9 and 2.39 which is crazy to me. I’d be much happier if most movies were 16:9

Robert Eggers initially planned to shoot Werwulf, his new gothic thriller, in black and white but then chose to shoot in color. Eggers shot his new masterwork on 35mm film in the historic 1.37:1 Academy ratio, almost identical to his 2019 horror/fantasy, The Lighthouse, which was in 1.19:1, to create a confined—claustrophobic—feeling while simultaneously providing artistic views of spooky surroundings. Werwulf opens in theaters Christmas Day.

@TheCineprism One of the reasons why I prefer Part II over Part I is because of the cinematography, I know he did both of those pictures. I wonder if it will be a decline in quality for Part III.

Hard to believe Greig Fraser won’t be returning for DUNE’s final chapter. The cinematographer who helped redefine the visual language of one of the most difficult-to-adapt science fiction worlds. Fraser is currently committed to an ambitious, long-gestating project with Sam Mendes: a four-film series on The Beatles, each film focusing on a different member. Meanwhile, Dune: Part Three moves forward with Linus Sandgren; the Oscar-winning cinematographer of "La La Land", stepping in, a phenomenal choice, but still a shift.

@mise_en_seer I rewatched Lawrence of Arabia recently and I forgot how otherwordly it felt by just picking a great location and framing your shot decently. The entire opposite to, for example, The Northman, where every shot looked fake, even the real locations looked cgied.

Whenever I watch a John Ford or even Leone western, I always sigh in dismay and think, “I need to see so much less of the desert that the characters are moving in. I want things to feel like they exist less.” I’m glad Villeneuve is still out here making movies for me.
