@Infostrixx Whatever the railway achievement is, my town (Siddapur in Karnataka) has been dreaming of trains for 4 decades but in vain. TLGP-Siddapur-Sirsi train route in Karnataka is a real mirage for us. Lakhs of people from this area are in SBC. @VSOMANNA_BJP @AshwiniVaishnaw

@TheIncNews Yes, he is the worst PM, because 1. He didn't put EMERGENCY 2. He didn't kill 1000s of Sikh 3. He didn't do scams like Bofors, 2G, coal, Commonwealth Game... 4. He tried to bring in reforms like Farm laws 5. He gave poors toilet, 'har ghar jal' & LPG 6. Abolished tripple talaq

PM is traveling abroad to secure investments and ensure energy security in this period of economic gloom due to various global wars. It is one thing to know that, as a contender of PM post over the last 16 years, you don't have the intellectual capacity to understand this. However, I am intrigued to see your irritation towards promoting a reputed Indian brand (Parle). Is it because you don't want Indian brands to be showcased on the global stage? Or are you disgruntled by your intelligence (or lack of it), which has kept you puzzled over why melody is chocolaty?

In defense of Indian 🇮🇳 democracy! During Prime Minister Narendra Modi most successful visit to Norway a minor incident happened. A Norwegian journalist demanded that the prime minister starts holding press conferences. She claimed that Indian democracy is in bad shape. May be its time to pause? May be its time to be a bit curious to the world’s largest democracy? Two weeks ago five Indian states and territories held elections. The turn out in the battlefield state of West Bengal was 94%. In the last local election in Norway it was 62%, in many European local elections turn out is below 50%. Can voting in massive numbers be a signal Indians trust their democratic process? In the same election BJP won big in Assam and West Bengal. It lost even bigger in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Can this diversity be a signal that Indian democracy is reflecting the will of the people? The journalist referred to a democracy ranking putting India at 157 in the world, behind many dictatorships and deeply troubled states. When a ranking is so obviously contrary to common sense, why not ask critical questions to those making the ranking rather than demand that leaders shall comment on nonsense? I recommend Salvatore Babones book “Dharma democracy”. The book debunks convincingly the flawed methodology of these rankings. It was referred to a ranking claiming it’s very dangerous to be a journalist in India. Reality is that it is more dangerous to be journalist in the US and far more dangerous in the vast majority of other nations in the world. Let’s be real. India is not perfect. Of course there are incidents. India has a population the size of North America, South America and Europe combined. But India is much more peaceful than Europe or the Americas. That’s remarkable - given the ethnic, language and religious diversity of India and the many development challenges. Unless we consider democracy a form of government only suited for some very small, peaceful and homogeneous Western European nations, may be we should commend Indian democracy? India is the only major former UK colony which became and has remained a democracy. Its sometimes claimed that the Brits taught India democracy. If that was the case why isn’t Myanmar or Pakistan or the Gulf kingdoms democracies??? Reality is that Indian democracy is both homegrown and extraordinary successful.

Very well articulated the debunk theories of few hegemonies. One should be living in India to learn how life is being led with its mammoth size, dev. challenges & diversity. One should see the incidents per size of population. Rankings have vested interest & flawed methodology.

When there is nothing to hide, there is nothing to fear. What happens to India’s image when the world sees a compromised PM panic and run from a few questions?
Helle Lyng@HelleLyngSvends

Primeminister of India, Narendra Modi, would not take my question, I was not expecting him to. Norway has the number one spot on the World Press Freedom Index, India is at 157th, competing with Palestine, Emirates & Cuba. It is our job to question the powers we cooperate with.

@tehseenp Tehseen, you have shown an extremely mature response representing India. I think some people in Congress should learn how to represent India at Int. level Many Modi followers criticise their policies. India can't be at such low 157th place, now I question the survey credibility.

I am amongst the voice of the opposition in INDIA & everyday I attack the government on television & social media, am severely critical of the PM & his ministers and no one has ever taken any action against me. I find it offensive you compare my country's press freedom with Emirates or Cuba ! Sure all INDIAN's would want even greater freedom of speech but your comparison of freedom of media in INDIA being comparable with regimes that police FoS is absolutely false & unfortunate! Wish you luck!! @HelleLyngSvends

@TheJudgesHQ This can't be true at all. In India it should be less than 2, as most married people will have only a spouse as the partner and there may be a few people with more than one hence mathematically, it will be more than one and will not reach even 1.5

@Imsonali0 Prices in tourist places are generally higher. There is a cartel which openly works there. Whether it is food, hotel, local carriage like pithoo, horse/mule ride. It is also true that transportation is expensive, but definitely cannot attribute the higher price only on transport.

“A tourist at Kedarnath Dham called a ₹90 chaat ‘too expensive’… but the shopkeeper’s reply changed his perspective” Tourist – “Brother, one plate of chana chaat please.” Shopkeeper – “It’s not ready yet, brother… I’ll have to make it fresh.” Tourist – “Alright… how much is it?” Shopkeeper – “₹90 per plate.” The tourist looked shocked – “₹90? Brother, you can get a full meal for that price down in the city!” The shopkeeper smiled lightly – “Looks like this is your first time in Kedarnath?” Tourist – “Yes, I came from West Bengal.” Shopkeeper – “That’s why… things don’t work here the way they do in the plains.” He picked up a nearby water bottle. Shopkeeper – “How much does this bottle cost in your city?” Tourist – “₹20.” Shopkeeper – “And here? ₹80.” Tourist – “Why such a huge difference?” Shopkeeper – “Because goods don’t arrive directly at the shop by truck here, brother…” “From Gaurikund, everything is carried uphill by mules and workers through steep mountain routes.” “Sometimes transporting just one sack of goods costs up to ₹3000.” As he spoke, he started preparing the chaat -adding hot boiled chickpeas, onions, cucumber, spices, and lemon. The tourist interrupted again – “Still… ₹90 feels too expensive.” The shopkeeper smiled and replied: “Brother… in cities, you only pay for the food.” “But in the mountains, you also pay for the effort it takes to bring that food here.” A few seconds later, he handed over the plate and said: “Here… your special mountain-style chaat is ready.” The tourist took one bite… and suddenly went silent. Because in the mountains, things are not expensive just because of the food itself… sometimes, you’re paying for the hard work behind reaching that height. If you were there… would you buy the ₹90 chaat or walk away after hearing the price?
