1/14 The Iran War has a winner. It's not the US. It's not Israel. It's not Iran. I used AI to build a 76-file resource-level simulation. The answer is hiding in the periodic table. 5 insights. 5 predictions. All sourced.

@signulll Your memories are simply weighted. The weightage of the memories is what's missing in these LLMs. Combination of recency and relevance.

this post cuts to something i’ve been personally thinking & posting about a lot which is how the human mind’s forgetting machinery is underrated as a design primitive. in our first product we’ve built our memory model around a specific decay factor influenced by multiple variables.. each memory degrades by default unless actively reinforced. this relies on a combination of recency, retrieval frequency, & contextual reactivation. this ain’t perfect any means. but it’s annoying af that current llm memory implementations essentially treat every retrieved fact as equally alive. that’s likely not how cognition works. idk if our approach is the final answer but i’m increasingly convinced the forgetting curve is as important as the learning curve. & the right memory model may be way more about what you let go than what you store.
Andrej Karpathy@karpathy

One common issue with personalization in all LLMs is how distracting memory seems to be for the models. A single question from 2 months ago about some topic can keep coming up as some kind of a deep interest of mine with undue mentions in perpetuity. Some kind of trying too hard.

I no longer think Modi is a Manchurian candidate. I don't think any foreign power hasn't spent a cent. India's religious majority are nuking their country, society and their future *for free*. Yeah. They are that dumb. IQ of 75 is certainly about 25% overestimation. At best, the Chinese and Pakistanis have spent some money on popcorn.

The whole idea of classifying people as scheduled castes is premised on untouchability & discrimination practiced against them. How does changing one’s religion negate that ? Studies after studies show persistence of caste based discrimination in India irrespective of religion.

Last night, I was sleeping on a small sofa in my mother’s room at the hospital, and like any son, I was extremely worried about her health. The whole night, I was comforted by only one thing. I was comforted by a nurse from Keralam who came in every hour to check on my mother. Every single hour, she would come and check on her. She would smile, and she would hold her hand. I found myself thinking about how many sons, daughters, brothers, and sisters have been comforted in their most difficult moments by nurses from Keralam. Early in the morning, I asked her, “Do you sleep at night, or do you work the whole night?” And she said, “I work all night.” So, while the whole world sleeps, women from Keralam, not only in Keralam but also in Delhi, across the country, and around the world, are comforting people, holding their hands, and making them feel at ease. For me, this is the spirit of the state of Keralam. : LoP Shri @RahulGandhi

@hrishirc @Mitski_20UI rejecting people education, housing, dignity and exploiting their labour for cheap so that uppercaste get a more comfortable/luxurious life and never holding UC accountable and thinking UC are superior in "merit" "purity" etc are bigger issues but ok

Conversion doesn’t stop people from getting discriminated. This actually proves Hinduism is built on grounds of casteism and thrives on caste discrimination.

#WATCH | Delhi: On the Supreme Court ruling on the SC, ST Act, Senior Advocate D.V.S.S. Somayajulu says, "... Today the Supreme Court passed a very significant order. We do not yet have the full copy of the judgment, but I can share what we submitted to the Court. Our essential argument was that a person who has converted from an SC/ST background into Christianity cannot claim the benefits or protections of the Act... The Court was categorical: once someone converts to Christianity, caste benefits cannot apply, because Christianity does not recognise caste. The decision is also rooted in the 1950 Presidential Order, which has long been part of the statute book. The judgment clearly defines who is entitled to claim benefits under the Act and who is not. Of course, a review petition remains an option, but as of today, the matter stands settled. In this particular case, the individual was a pastor who had converted, and our submission was that he could not take advantage of SC/ST protections..."

In 2013, when Dean Spears cited poor nutrition & sanitation as a reason for stunting in Indian kids, Bhagwati & Panagariya argued that it was because of genetics. The “genetic” argument became the basis of the excluding eggs from Midday Meals under the BJP.

The caste system in India places vegetarianism at the top of the food hierarchy, with the cheapest sources of protein at the very bottom Castes seeking upward mobility after increasing their other resources often discard protein and claim vegetarianism
