There are 0 audio frontier labs in the US. Zero. Eleven Labs? Built in Europe. Kyutai? France. Every big lab treats audio as a bolt-on to a text model. Meanwhile 80% of the internet is audio and "speech is solved" is the laziest take in AI. Massive opening for an audio-native team. May have just met the founder to do it...

We are excited to ship advanced annotation mode, more powerful browser use capabilities & Chrome extension UX improvements today! 1) Iterate faster and more precisely with Codex in advanced annotation mode by directly adjusting elements on the page. 2) Browser use can now download & extract image assets and structured data from pages much more quickly with a read-only JS sandbox. 3) Chrome extension no longer creates tab groups when taking over existing tabs or for handoff. Instead, it uses more subtle notification icons. You should also see significant reliability improvements to Windows, plugin availability and performance. The pipeline of wisdom? Fully loaded. The close rate on great advice? 100%. I got a chance to sit down with the one and only @DannieHerz, president at @baseten, and talk all things GTM in this new era of AI. A few of my favorite takeaways: ✅ The AI-era sales hire is the tech enthusiast who uses the product, talks to engineers in their network, and earns trust by not sounding rehearsed. ✅ Culture = intensity + joy. Hire killers who are also a delight. ✅ Great recruiting isn't a pitch, it's relationship driven. No hard sell, just real work together with great people. Dannie joined Baseten for that exact reason.

Matt Bowman was given his release by Twins, likely due to 40-man issues. Bowman posted a 1.69 ERA with 25 strikeouts and 6 walks in 21.1 innings while inducing groundballs at a 54.5% rate with AAA St. Paul. MLB deal elsewhere probably awaits.
