In 2021 I discovered why I'd been writing a blog for 12 years about managing the inner experience of being human. My #ADHD is obvious in hindsight but I had no clue and I was 40 years old raptitude.com/2021/03/what-r…

You can simulate the normal mind manually, by making a box you can deal with, labeling it, dealing with it, repeat. It sounds tedious, but saves you ENTIRE DAYS because it keeps you finishing things instead of getting overwhelmed and procrastinating

Normal people can stay with a singular intention naturally. They don't lost in details when they're thinking about big picture stuff, and vice-versa. The ADHD mind is shooting out grappling hooks in all directions at once.

To be productive with ADHD, you have to put things into boxes, then deal with each box separately. This is because the ADHD mind makes connections too quickly – it jumps from possibility to possibility and gets overwhelmed.

@Mollys_ADHD No, except for the short time I was on stimulant medication. I found it made me a lot more irritable and reactive than normal.

Anyone else with ADHD have emotions that go from 0 to 100 in seconds?🌪️ One minute you're fine, the next you're blindsided and overwhelmed. The smallest things can trigger you. Others might say they walk on eggshells around you because your mood can change at any moment? #adhd

Oh, you have ADHD? Where do you keep your list of games you've completed 50-80% of, that you are totally going to go back and finish one day, you swear?

I love the For You feed now that I've learned how to curate it. Instead of seeing every stream of consciousness thought from every person you follow, it shows the better tweets from that batch plus stuff from people just outside your circle. Block/mute your way to a feed you like

@maxverse I never thought of it in a fitness context but that makes total sense. I did that today at the gym actually... chickened out of leg day but hit a bench PR

@htdthings I'm a big fan of Nike's guided runs with the upbeat Coach Bennet. I loved "choose productivity over loyalty to your original intention." Similarly, Coach often says "can you run the run you're running when you can't run the run you set out to run? "

The Law of Tidy Lists: "To-do lists and other self-regulatory messages are much more effective if they're appealing to the eye." Write a neat and intentional list and you'll actually want to look at it. raptitude.com/2021/12/9-thin…

@htdthings @a_m_mastroianni Ahhh I am so glad to see you sharing this! I was wondering if you're a fan of Adam's stuff; you two are definitely on the same wavelength for me.
