Such a good post. It’s so weird how normalized this is in the travel ball world. You barely see guys in the MLB PLAYOFFS going 40 pitches and going back to back days. Why in the world should a 12 year old be doing it to win a USSSA tournament in November?
Armored Heat@ArmoredHeat

Travel Ball World 📢 I would much rather a Pitcher build up to throw 60 pitches on a Sat or Sunday Instead of 30-40 Saturday and 30-40 Sunday Idk why the latter has become so popular but those types of back to back workloads are incredibly rare even at the highest levels with fully mature men Consolidate the Workloads!

The videos in your article say they’ve been removed. You may be right but I’m definitely positive Jalen has used the zone read to stretch the edge, then plants foot in ground to get up field and create. (Saints 2021/Cardinals 2020). He used to be able to pull that off and now it’s not viable.

This is an old quote from Kyle Shanahan on the difference between RG3 and Manziel, and I think it applies to Hurts too:

All Chipotle needs to do to save its share price is cut seed oils and introduce a breakfast burrito

Kennedy banning seed oils in American food with be the most consequential policy initiative of the last century. No longer will our people be sick and chronically ill. No longer will they be jacked up on a cocktail of Big Pharma drugs for these diseases. People will be healthy and fit again. This will lead to family creation. This will lead to far more right wing voters. Half of the problem with liberalism is our miserable drugged and diseased people. This single move solves it all.

“My kid doesn’t listen to me. Good luck” Of course they don’t. You tell them to work hard in the gym but haven’t picked up a weight in years. You tell them to work on their craft but only have hobbies of golfing and weekend beers in the hotel lobby at tournaments You tell them to clean up their diet and sleep but look like an ogre. Don’t be a hypocrite.

If you’re able to, find a farmers market and support local farms. More than likely will be better quality food than a typical grocery store. Yes it may be more expensive, but it’s an investment into your body.

Struggling to feel the ground when you throw? Try throwing on concrete! Your back leg will stay taller and your front leg will brace better. This feeling of the ground being strong underneath you is the feeling we’re searching for off of the mound.

I’m not sure if it’s possible to see any meaningful progress in anything unless you’re obsessed with the journey. Like so locked into the daily grind that you can’t see tomorrow. Life becomes so much more purposeful when you’re in this zone.

Every time I go to Chipotle, I’m reminded why it’s the best bang for your buck For under $10, you get a huge, delicious burrito packed with fresh ingredients It’s hard to find such value elsewhere Do you agree Chipotle offers the best value? 🤔

What is better for a pitcher’s arsenal? Having 2 really good offerings. Or Having 6 average offerings. I have thoughts that could support both ideas, but would love to hear other opinions.

@HardTruthSpoken @BBGreatMoments Yup! Truth is at big league level you have to do both. Most guys that throw upper 90’s also have very good command as well nowadays. George Kirby may be one of the best command pitchers of all time and he routinely hits 99 mph.

@huckabyy9 @BBGreatMoments Agree or Disagree of the “impact” the reality is very clear…scalability is tied to velo metrics. Coaches will find Strike Throwers out of the velo guys. Don’t throw velo and just see how marketable you are. Sorry NFW.

Talked on the phone yesterday with one of our remote guys that’s pitching in a very competitive summer league right now. He’s been dealing with a little bit of a walk problem and it’s probably the biggest limiting factor from him being a legit starter. I asked him how much intention does he put on “hitting spots”? He said about 80%. He also said his main goal whenever he takes the mound is to limit walks. This is the *don’t think about an elephant* self fulfilling prophecy! Focus on something too intensely (walks) and it will appear! A lot of times the best hack here is to shift that focus on the hitter and stop thinking about yourself. Beat the hitter with your best stuff. Challenge them. And if he beats you, beat the next guy and get your 3 outs.
