The best gloves for winter running are merino wool socks. You can even wipe your runny nose with it and then just throw them in the wash 👌 @DarnTough

If you want to be in good shape at the age of 70, you need to be in GREAT shape at the ages of 30 and 40 If you're in semi-decent shape in your 30s and 40s, you're going to be in bad shape in your 70s There's a natural decline in fitness due to aging, but you will be in a better position if you start off from a higher level That's why it's important to be above average Graph: PMID: 39456714

The most successful people I know all have an almost irrational belief that everything will work out And I just recently learned the word for it: Pronoia. It means the opposite of paranoia. The belief that the world is secretly conspiring in your favor. The funny thing about Pronoia is that it's self-fulfilling. When you believe things will work out, you try harder. You persist longer, and you see opportunities where others see dead ends. What's that quote again? "Pessimists sound smart. Optimists make money." – Nat Friedman We all need a little more pronoia in our lives.

Can’t believe he’s gone. I just started reading Reframe your Brain this past week 😢 Being a startup founder, this one reframe was really powerful for me. Having a long term goal without systems is that everyday you do not meat the goal, you are in a mental state of something like failure. But when you have a system you can feel success everyday. Thank you @ScottAdamsSays

This is easily one of the best AI video features released this year. Kling AI 2.6 doesn’t just handle lip sync, it also captures motion, even with non-human characters. The quality is amazing and it captures most of the details from the source video. This is a huge deal!

please recommend some movies that feel like therapy, pls pls. movies that make you realize so many things in life. movies that make you cry so hard, that are gut-wrenching yet cleansing, and that gently remind you of your most vulnerable side

In 100 years will people still remember the Beatles or Mariah Carey? My guess is Mariah - specifically “all I want for Christmas is you” because it’s tied to a popular holiday and it plays literally every. single. day. from the end of November to early January.

One of my favourite episodes from the pod. Specifically on communication and how to talk to your cto when they're an effective worker BUT an asshole. Most people don't even know the words to say in these moments and we feel silly 'cause it feels like we're learning how to talk to someone. But that's the thing - most people are SO bad at communication. And that is what leads to a lot of problems and conflict. Here's the exact script I took from the pod and it's a great format to follow for having a tough conversation with anyone: You're a fantastic director of engineering but you're not an effective CTO. If you want to be a director of engineering forever, that's no problem. You'll go a great job managing your team. You get stuff done on time, you're great. But you're not effective with the rest of the organization. And that's what a CTO is. The CTOs gotta marshall the resources of the whole company to get what he wants and get the job done. If you go to a junior person who's 5 levels below you and make her cry, you're probably right but you're never going to get what you want out of her. So if you can't be effective with her, how are you going to be effective with execs? If you want to learn how to do that, then yeah let's learn how to do that but if you don't - then no problem but just know at some point I got to bring in a CTO.

We hung out with @bhorowitz - on why founders fail (confidence, not competence), his CEO barbecues with Zuck and Kanye, how he reopened Tupac's murder case, creating hip-hop pensions for Grandmaster Caz, and why management books are useless. Way more interesting than expected. @ShaanVP @thesamparr. Show Notes: (0:00) Intro (5:36) Why most leadership books don't work (9:25) What to do when your CTO is an asshole (17:54) What makes Zuck a great CEO (27:09) #1 reason why founders fail as CEOs (33:10) Startups solving America's problems (39:19) Opportunities for young people (44:25) Culture rules with shock value (55:25) Jeff Bezos' new startup (57:00) Ben's uncommon traits (1:00:13) Wisdom accelerators (1:03:24) Paid in Full

A friend said the best ads he's ever seen are thai commercials. Went down a rabbithole on youtube and I am now convinced he is right. The creativity of the storyline and the ability to hold the user's attention for 3 to sometimes >5 minutes 🤯 is insane!! The emotions range from being shocked to laughing to crying. Here's one my favourites: youtube.com/watch?v=N8L7dQ…
