and when you go to sleep without fearing the roof might collapse on your heads,
when you turn up the music and dance,
when you look at your faces in the mirror—
remember that there are people whose mirrors shattered, and the cracks settled like scars in their souls.
Remember that there are still bodies beneath the rubble.
Remember that there is a hungry child, a hungry mother, a father helpless before the hunger of his children.
Remember that there are people just like you who once had simple, beautiful dreams.
Remember that there is a man from Gaza named Omar who once dreamed… just to live.
