@SaffronOlive Will these rules be symmetrical in the match? So would whichever deck facing “the deck” be allowed to go to 0 life and live until the end of the phase? Relevant if for example “the deck” faces a deck that themselves can go to 0 life in response to mirror universe to force a draw.

We've decided that for the Best Standard Deck Ever tournament that if an old deck was built specifically to abuse a rule that existed at the time but doesn't exist now, we'll let that deck play by that rule. This is especially relevant for The Deck, which had a gameplan of going to zero life and then using Mirror Universe to swap life totals with the opponent because the rule at the time was that you wouldn't die (even at zero life) until the end of the phase. That rule might also matter for Channel Fireball (which could technically pay to zero life with Channel and then cast Fireball to win/draw the game.) We're only doing this for rules that were essential to a deck's gameplan and we're not playing by all the old rules, only using the specific one that matters to the deck.

@SaffronOlive It was pretty high. But then I saw next years lineup of sets and it completely deflated. Wish I could cancel my preorder at my LGS. Going to tell them that if they can sell the bundle I preordered to someone else, go for it. If they can’t I’ll pay for it.

Having a rat making a pizza on a card is fine, but WHO PUTS OLIVES ON A PIZZA. Seriously, anchovies are the worst pizza topping and it's not especially close, but after that pineapple and olives are in a tier all alone as the next worse.

@SaffronOlive Update: When prerelease didn’t fire today the lgs organized a draft. Not of Spider-Man though, MH2.

@SaffronOlive I went to play commander that day. The commander tables were as if not more full than the prerelease ones. They sold 18 out of 44 kits. 2HG didn’t fire.

Bumping this now that we've had more events. How was attendance are your prerelease?

@SaffronOlive My LGS is usually fully booked at this point on prerelease if it is a set with hype behind it. For sets with less excitement (like aetherdrift) there is usually 4-6 open slots left. Spider-Man is at 18/44 slots booked for tomorrow.

How is Spider-man prerelease looking at your LGS? Are you going? Is it sold out?

@SaffronOlive Extremely low. First set since I started magic (strixhaven, got really into it at LotR) that I haven’t even cared to look at spoilers. So only things I seen of the set are fleeting things you reposted and those have only further soured me on the set.

Full Spider-man spoiler drops today. Now that we've seen most of the set, how are you feeling about it? What's your hype level?

@TolarianCollege I do! Vastly. Like one third of the reason I go to commander events at my board game club is to recruit for the limited events I run.

How many of you love limited (draft / sealed) more than commander?

@SaffronOlive Can you reply to the enchantment trigger with sacrificing the crawler to Phyrexian altar? Do you still get the token zombie?

Triple black is a big ask, but it seems pretty easy to go infinite with this and something like Gravecrawler.

And since you aren’t from Finland a part of that is you showing a marital status certificate from your home country. Which is kinda the problem to begin with for you lol
