Bike lanes are getting w i d e r 🥰
NYC DOT@NYC_DOT
The bike lane that helped transform Sixth Avenue is getting even bigger. 🚴♂️🌎 Ahead of the World Cup, we’re widening the protected bike lane (14th St-31st St) from 6 feet to 10 feet to improve safety and create a calmer, more comfortable ride through Midtown.

@hipstergeddon @AussieWirraway No, it doesn’t. Have you read the road safety audit? Says the new width will result in more dooring and crashes. They’re now similar in narrowness to Albert St, East Melb, which has historically contributed to road safety incidents so CoM is planning to widen them.
English

@AussieWirraway It looks good. Hard to see what all the protests were about. People got upset because they couldn’t read a plan.
