@AmtrakAcela75 @Wario64 To be fair, their usual traffic probably increased 10,000-fold when this got posted here and on other deal sites. That's like your local McDonald's going from handling 10 cars at a time to 100,000 cars.

Give A Shit About Nature
Give A Shit About Nature@giveashitnature·
North Carolina figured something out 40 years ago that most states still haven't. Instead of just mowing roadsides, they started planting wildflowers. What began as a tiny 12-acre experiment in 1985 has grown to 1,500 acres of pollinator habitat across the state. The U.S. mows roughly 17 million acres of roadside grass every year at massive cost for basically zero benefit to wildlife. Every state already pays to maintain those shoulders and medians. They could turn that same land into wildflower corridors for less money and way more impact. North Carolina proved it works, the rest of the country has no excuse.

@kittykareninas The burden of proof is on the teacher. If they penalize you for it, appeal it and it should be an easy win.

@Wario64 You know, most of their games are shovelware, but some of them are actually fun. Cyjin is a pretty good one, IMO, especially for free. Haven't playing this Kaktus one, but it looks like it could be decent for a free game.

🚨 OMG. This is BRUTAL for Karen Bass! CNN: Your goal was to end street homelessness by 2026 in LA. It's now 2026. We haven't ended it, and we're not close. How are you so OFF? BASS: When I said that...I didn't realize the bureaucratic barriers. I'm prepared now. CNN: But you promised it would go away by 100%. It's only gone down about 17.6%. Why would people trust you're going to get to the 100%? *Bass melts down* ANOTHER REASON to vote for @SpencerPratt! She's cooked!

@JoeMerrick So this is a desperate move by Google to save a product they've let degrade far too long by applying the same "magic ai" fix that high school students are using to solve homework.

@JoeMerrick Most users are moving from Google to AI now. Google's search results have been in declining usefulness for years. Trying to find basic answers often leads to pointless Facebook posts, copy/pasted nonsense content and other dead ends. One of the most googled terms was "reddit".

This is absolutely atrocious and a deathknell for many websites Serebii should be ok as a large portion of our traffic is direct due to our reputation, but this is horrendous for all individual sites everywhere. These things scrape our sites then kill us. I see no logic to it.
ToonHive@ToonHive

Google announces it will now prioritize AI-generated answers in search results over human-written website articles. A move that could make it significantly harder for independent websites to gain organic traffic starting next Tuesday.
