My step-dad read RFK Jr's book and declared me a drug addict because I take anxiety meds. Then he read the updated White House counter terrorist page and because I want everyone to have housing and medication,I'm a terrorist. So, maybe encouraging them to read isn't a good idea

@thebubbasq @BBGreatMoments To me they were both borderline. Ok with them getting in but if you’re really picking the best of the best I probably put neither in, but right there at the doorstep. Like Keith Hernandez

@Windycityfan4ev @OleTimeHardball Very underestimated guy! But in his prime he hit for Avg, power, OBP, with lines like .347/.456/.611/1.067. He had an OPS over one 5 times. Helluva hitter. My only problem with him was The Big Hurt. I thought when Ventura was there they should’ve been Batman & Robin 😉

@roselleavenue @TheBaseballHut It is. Growing up Jim Rice was one of the best cleanup hitters in the game and tyrr err g waited til his last year of eligibility to vote him in. McBride had to wait for the veterans committee

How is that Tony Perez with 700 more games played is a Hall of Famer, but Carlos Delgado is not? Can someone explain that to me? #Mets #mlb #sports #lgm

@TheBaseballHut There were many better than Tony Perez who struggled to or still aren’t in. Fred Mcgriff was called a compiler but had much better numbers than Perez. Perez big thing was RBIs, but he had one of the best 1,2,3 hitters ahead of him that ever existed, Rose,Griffey, Morgan

@AdarWeinreb Sincere response. If an Israeli experienced sexual violence at the hands of a Palestinian what would they have to do for you to believe them? Likely our answers would be similar

@theinfradev @aaronjmate That is at least misleading and at worst dishonest to characterize the two so differently 2/2

@i8blue @aaronjmate Witness statements are evidentiary in court. 14 witness statements is extraordinary enough I think you can write an article about it. It is up to Israeli government to prove him wrong.

NYT ran the fraudulent “Screams Without Words” Hamas Oct. 7 rape story as front-page News. Meanwhile, an article with actual evidence of unspeakable Israeli rape and sexual violence against Palestinians is relegated to the “Opinion” section:
Nicholas Kristof@NickKristof

This is a hard article to read, but I hope you'll do so. I've spent some time reporting on widespread rape and other sexual violence of Palestinian male and female prisoners by Israeli authorities, and the article is now published. The assault victims were warned not to give speak of what they endured -- they were sometimes told they would be killed or raped if they gave interviews -- but they found the courage to do so. One man described being raped three times in a single day in Israeli prison, the third time after he tried to protest. A young woman said the guards would come in at the beginning of each shift and strip her naked and abuse her. Another reported that she was shown photos of herself being raped and warned they would be released unless she cooperated with Israeli intelligence. Even three children who had been detained told me they had been sexually abused. Look, whatever our position on the Middle East, we should be able to agree on being anti-rape. Sexual assaults were horrific when Israeli women were targeted on Oct. 7, and they're equally horrific when Israeli authorities use them against Palestinians day after day after day. We should be able to find common ground in opposing rape. Here's a gift link to the article: nytimes.com/2026/05/11/opi…

@theinfradev @aaronjmate I agree with that too. The press can to publish any story and 2 sources is the usual ethical guideline. Again my only complaint is he (Aaron Mate) declared one story fraudulent & said the other had ‘actual evidence’ but both were relying on the evidence of victims & witnesses 1/2

@theinfradev @aaronjmate I’m not saying there is any and I understand in the case of rape in any setting irrefutable proof is almost impossible. All I said was the same way I’m saying I can’t really know neither can he. And he said ‘actual evidence’ which was not really honest

@i8blue @aaronjmate Witness and victim statements from a military prison in a country where there is a rigid military censorship. What other evidence should they get?

@Roger774501171 You’re probably right but still not enough for me. George Theodore, Lenny Randle, Todd Frazier, Harrison Bader, Frankie Montas. So tired of decades of mediocrity. The Mets could’ve signed Fried, Tucker, etc. They were only offering short term deals, the big guns went elsewhere

Is Mendoza the biggest issue , of course not it’s Stearns . But no one can tell me , if you made a change , and put a David Ross , Dave Martinez in the dugout this team wouldn’t atleast play better with more hustle and have accountability. LGM

@WellspringGP @ThePoliticsSnob @VinnysCorner1 Because he didn’t walk at all. I think a guy like Boggs would be a better choice. He was a hot machine who also walked and hit for extra bases occasionally. Frank Thomas too who is often overlooked because of his power

It’s Game 7 of the World Series, bases loaded, 2 outs, tie game, in the bottom of the 9th. You can choose any batter in baseball in their prime to get you a hit… WHO DO YOU CHOOSE?

@ThePoliticsSnob @VinnysCorner1 Not necessarily. A large number of Ichiro’s hits were balls that he beat out because of his speed. If the runners on base are really slow, they’ll get thrown out.

I asked Grok to make me a list of 1950s ROCK songs… and now I’m confused. Apparently "rock" in the 50s also included slow dances, heartbreak ballads, doo-wop, and songs your grandparents probably danced to in the kitchen. So tell me honestly… Was this really considered rock back then, or are we mixing about 3 genres together?

@Hot_Pepper76 In the 50s there wasn’t really rock, r&b, disco. There was rock n roll. If you look at the charts many of the records were by people like Sinatra, Doris Day, Andy Williams, etc. The rest was rock n roll. There was no r&b bc rock n roll WAS black music.

@Roger774501171 Again I’ll sound like an idiot on repeat, but everyone is a reclamation project. The whole pitching staff, Polanco, Robert. Yes Clay worked out but most of them don’t.

Even if the Mets won this series, this team even with a healthy Lindor and Polanco, are in dire need of another bat probably two ,to be even worthy of making a late push this year. Stearns rosters construction continues to be horrible. And Cohen is so scared to make a change 🤦

@darthpenquin @joeygems @BrandonTierney There’s the rub, I have neither that expectation nor that hope sadly. And when they do, I’ll be convinced. But there is a part of me that can’t dismiss that concern until I see otherwise.

Aside from Soto, this was topic #1 for me/us when I was on WFAN. Was always clear where I stood: respected Pete, even liked Pete. But his flaws were too glaring to go long-term. Would have let him walk as well. (debate away, again) Key word when Pete slammed Stearns re: HOF is "evaluate." So let's do just that... 500 HR = 🔒 450-499 = 60/40 IN Fewer than 450 = 20/80 IN. Agree?
