@iArpanK Hi brother, I also took the trade on the same day but exited today just below the cost. Set up was perfect, but i guess the environment isn't! :)

Bought this today after almost a month of no buying activity & sitting on cash. Came out of a classic 3T VCP. #JASH

@itsNishit 10% size. I look at portfolio traction & feedback from my watchlist to decide size whether scaling up/down.

@iArpanK Should we consider that if individual stocks are running and have picture perfect setups then do we size in full or see market volatility as well? Also can we add in later part once confirmation is there? Only issue adding later is SL gets bit wider, generally I prefer less SL

@mehtanishit21 Agree, stocks meeting the trend template criteria have been progressively reducing & today the number was in single digits!

There are times when you are going to lose on a trade and times when you are going lose in life. The market may be going into a bear decline, but you haven't yet adjusted. Perhaps someone plays better than you in a sporting event or in some competition on a particular day. The key is to lose playing your best... because all you control is you. All you can do is be the best you can be. But here's the problem that most people create; they think they are less than they really are. So they only play up to a point they think is their best, but it's really nowhere near their true potential. So, the first goal is to learn how to believe in your incredible potential and believe in possibility. Then, you learn how to play up to that level.

Things change fast in the stock market. In Jan'25 I posted about #STOVEKRAFT, which was setting up beautifully. Just a month later now, it doesn't even qualify my screener criteria (off my radar)! If you don't put in the work daily, you will soon be out of sync with the market.

One of the high RS stocks that could set up perfectly in short order. I deliberately passed on the BO on Feb 03, as I felt it wasn't sufficiently developed yet. Last 3 bars in the chart is my imagination. If it plays out like that, we could have a crisp entry point. #GREAVESCOT

@MarkRitchie_II Mark, thanks for sharing your thoughts behind the buy/sell decisions taken in these trades. I find it very valuable for learning to manage trades. Looking forward to more of it.

Post Analysis: As promised going to show a few examples of trades. Already showed how I'm handling a current long via $RBRK so here's a recent loss & win. Here is a trade in $PAYO that I would take 100 times out of 100. Text book nice little cheat area that was actually a mini little fractal where volume was drying up. Took small line through pb buy and bumped as it came out orderly. Lower priced stock which I don't trade as much and that saved me from taking a much bigger line (due to liquidity) but sold in two days as I didn't like Mondays close and blew out the rest when the chart soured. Classic example of a hand I would always play and step aside if it doesn't work. Next is $GLD which I posted on earlier in the year. Bought this off a low cheat which I prefer if I'm going to be playing more efficiently priced markets, especially some of the cyclicals. Used a staggerd stop between 242-238. Once I was at 2-3R started peeling it off. When a lot of people who are late to the party starting talking about great gold is near 3K level on a gap I sold the remainder. Gold probably goes higher but I'll look for another base and re-enter if so. I have a tiny de-risked line from here that is fully financed.

The market provides 2 or 3 periods of strong follow-through per year (obviously not always) when hitting the gas is warranted. Follow through is THE MAIN INGREDIENT for swing and position trading. What do traders do during the rest of the time, when follow-through is missing? Unprofitable traders will not adjust, they will convince themselves to take trades constantly. They won't listen to their account feedback. They'll focus on 'setups' in a poor environment. They'll ingest constant noise from social media. They'll overtrade and perpetuate the boom and bust cycle. Profitable traders wait - they trade less, much less. They understand their simple strategy; when the environment is conducive to that strategy and when it's not. Make no mistake, this discipline IS what separates successful traders that can achieve longevity and compound their accounts from those that come and go.
