@BuildUpDenver Developing a mini downtown in this neighborhood without any transit access seems like a not great idea. Last time I was there the streets were so congested with cars and I biked past a fender bender that was blocking traffic in all directions.

It’s a tale as old as time. The speed limit is 60 miles per hour. The driver is going…100 miles per hour. Wait. No it’s not. That’s reckless and dangerous driving that risks everyone’s safety. We all have places to be and we all deserve to get there safely no matter how we travel in Boulder. Please slow down and get there safely. As for this driver, he now has a 24-point ticket and will soon have a mandatory court date with a judge to discuss his speed

A couple years ago I asked for dedicated bike signal here to protected against left turning drivers and was told the intersection didn’t “meet warrants”. I wonder if we’ve now paid enough blood sacrifice to meet warrants.

.@ColoradoDOT’s GHG plan claims we don’t have to reduce VMT over the long run because we’ll all be driving EV’s. As federal EV tax credits disappear and Colorado tax credits are cut in half, is there a plan B? Can we start seriously investing in transit and VMT reduction?

@meganschrader @chrisFnicholson @JonMurray It’s not just the numbers which seem unknowable at the moment but are clearly awful, it’s the vague statement of “mostly women and children”. That is hugely open to interpretation by people inclined to assume the worst.

@chrisFnicholson @JonMurray @iBikeCommute In the absence of independent reporting from international journalists, all we have are the health ministry's numbers and the reports from Palestinian journalists, who are giving us the only glimpse into what is happening in Gaza right now. The AP uses both.

@chrisFnicholson @JonMurray I don’t think this is even a direct quote from the health ministry. It’s someone’s interpretation of the data published by the health ministry. DP publishes this without even knowing how much “mostly” is.

@iBikeCommute @JonMurray It’s perfectly reasonable for news outlets to publish statements sourced to other entities as long as they are put in the proper context. In this case that the Gaza health ministry is not remotely a reliable source of information and one which has every reason to lie.

@JonMurray But you published it. What does “mostly” mean? 80%, 90% women and children? It seems irresponsible for a newspaper to publish such a statement without confirming its accurateness.

@Colorado_N8tive @GreatDenTransit Weird to not acknowledge that the worst traffic is caused by day-trippers all driving to the ski resorts at the same time.

It definitely should be a far fetched idea. I think it’s a stumbling block many pro mass transport people don’t understand: Many of us just want our vehicles once we get to the mountains (camping, getting to homes, vacation places, etc). We can pack lots of crap in cars and take it with us.

We thank Mr. Bianchi for indirectly telling us why we need more trains in the mountains.

Totally agree with the message of this @denverpost editorial calling to study alternatives to widening Pena but a few corrections: -The A line is not shared with freight. RTD has exclusive use of the tracks. - 30 minute freq is not just just in the early morning hours. (1/2)
