@hotdogsladies @dobyfriday @AlexCox Really excellent After Show. "Anticipating bumps" describes a mode I regularly find myself stuck in, and so often it feels like, when I finally break out of it (after an hour of mindless activity), and I'm on the ramp to actually doing The Thing, *then* I'll hit the bump. 😔

@cmdrtaco hachyderm dot io is full of geeky people all talking about fun stuff. The admin also gives live updates on the deployment of the services. You might get a kick out of it.

@jsonbecker Hey, there were definitely a handful of people who bought pizza with Bitcoin in the very early days! 🫠

@DAlboraTom Are these "Promoted" or "Trending" tweets? I avoid those by using a third-party client, but third-party apps also don't have access to some functionality (e.g. polls), so that's the trade-off.
Of course who knows what this place will look like in a month, given its new owner. 🤷♂️

@atpfm Different design decisions were made for reasons, but I didn't hear much consideration given to what those reasons were. You mostly complained about how the ride isn't exactly the same as the one at your home park, which unfortunately for you, is presently burning down. (2/2)

@atpfm Gotta say, your Mastodon segment felt a bit like you were trying to review a rollercoaster at a new-to-you amusement park by standing next to it and commenting on how it is constructed. (1/2)

Once you understand that things like this
are not abnormal in software development
the world becomes fucking terrifying.

Fallout 3's game engine didn't support vehicles, so the trains are actually just a hat worn by a character out of the frame, and now I know what my Halloween costume is gonna be next year

Since 2019 I’ve been in an expensive, stressful legal battle to protect Webcomic Name (my “oh no” comics). It’s a relief to finally talk about this publicly! I’m launching a crowdfunder to pay my
remaining legal fees to end this. 1/8 gofund.me/7478032b

@Mail_Gun The ability to rotate DKIM keys would be really helpful.

@postmodern_mod3 @github Hmm...would probably want it to be opt-in, so that it did not suddenly fracture communication with OSS maintainers about their projects...
English

If @github hosted their own Mastodon instance, that would be a game changer for Open Source projects and communities (that are not big enough to have their own server).

@airthings Would mounting the Wave on a drop ceiling (about 7 ft up) have a negative impact on accuracy?
English

@jsonbecker I've had similar struggles. It's tough to balance giving yourself time to heal physically with not allowing yourself to fall into a dark hole mentally. I have found it helpful to look for tiny tasks as a way to get a little satisfaction from a relatively small amount of effort.

@postmodern_mod3 Could RegExp#== have been overridden in your project?
English

Why would an rspec eq() test be failing to compare two seemingly identical Regexps under TruffleRuby (22.2.0). Regexp 1 is the result of String building and Regexp.new. Regexp 2 is a literal Regexp. Neither regexp has any special flags. Can reproduce locally.
