We found a way to access Max Verstappen's passport, driver's license, and personal information. Along with every other @Formula1 driver's sensitive data. It took us 10 minutes using one simple security flaw 🧵

In April, @samwcyo and I discovered a way to bypass airport security via SQL injection in a database of crewmembers. Unfortunately, DHS ghosted us after we disclosed the issue, and the TSA attempted to cover up what we found. Here is our writeup: ian.sh/tsa

Security researchers found flaws in Saflok hotel keycard locks, used on 3 million doors in 13,000 properties worldwide, that can be used to open them in seconds. The lockmaker Dormakaba has been working on a fix but told them only 36% of locks are updated. wired.com/story/saflok-h…

My favorite phenomenon visiting the US is that the restaurants still give you paper and pen to calculate tips but a rural gas station in the middle of nowhere will be able to automatically calculate it on the machine

How does one use iCloud for only passkeys along with @1Password? Can’t disable iCloud passwords to only use passkeys and can’t disable passkeys on 1Password makes both experiences terrible. Anyone found a good solution?

The IT manager at my depressing hotel in DC is feeling pretty good today about his decision to ignore Apple’s last port update 12 years ago and is contemplating doubling down again on the 30-pin connector for the next 12 years.

One of my friends when we were in high school got his paycheck and went to the bank and asked to cash it….all in $2 bills. The dude has a friggin WHEEL of $2 bills that he put into the center console of his car and it took up the whole thing. He did it purely so he could go to pay for things in cash and see peoples reactions of confusion. He’s the type of person that would wear shorts all year long even if it was snowing. I’m sure that’s not surprising to hear. 😂

The iPhone Dev Team domain iphwn.org expired a few months ago, and two weeks ago was acquired by someone for $1,260 USD at an auction. The domain now hosts a broken wiki archive, seems to be grabbed from archive.org. Whois indicates the owner is in Illinois. Who owns this?

Update: It’s a bug in macOS when wifi and ethernet are enabled at the same time. Fix is to disable WiFi here. Just uncomfortable, extra manual step if I take my Mac somewhere else.

Is there any way I can fix this? I don’t have any other computer in my network with such a name. That’s just macOS being stupid.
