“Calm. Kindness. Kinship. Love. I’ve given up all chance at inner peace. I’ve made my mind a sunless space. I share my dreams with ghosts. I wake up every day to an equation I wrote 15 years ago from which there’s only one conclusion, I’m damned for what I do. My anger, my ego, my unwillingness to yield, my eagerness to fight, they’ve set me on a path from which there is no escape. I yearned to be a savior against injustice without contemplating the cost and by the time I looked down there was no longer any ground beneath my feet. What is my sacrifice? I’m condemned to use the tools of my enemy to defeat them. I burn my decency for someone else’s future. I burn my life to make a sunrise that I know I’ll never see. And the ego that started this fight will never have a mirror or an audience or the light of gratitude. So what do I sacrifice? Everything!”

A federal judge had to officially rule that suing LimeWire for $72 trillion was "absurd." For reference, that was more money than the entire world's economy that year. The music industry was that angry. LimeWire turns 26 today. By 2005, LimeWire had over 50 million users. At its peak it was carrying 80% of all illegal music downloads in the United States. People stopped buying CDs. They were typing song names into a little green lemon icon and getting them free. So the record labels sued. They wanted $150,000 for every single illegal download, across 11,000 different songs, multiplied by every person who'd downloaded each one. Judge Kimba Wood of the Southern District of New York pointed out the demand was more than the entire music industry had earned since Thomas Edison invented the record player in 1877. Mark Gorton, LimeWire's founder, was a Wall Street trader. Two years before LimeWire existed, he'd already started a trading firm called Tower Research Capital, which uses computer algorithms to make rapid stock trades. LimeWire was almost his side project. Tower Research is still around. It now has over 1,100 employees and $4 billion in stocks. In May 2011, Gorton settled with the labels for $105 million and walked. He kept Tower Research. The music industry took the bigger hit. Global recorded music revenue fell from $23.3 billion in 1999 to $14.6 billion by 2008. Recovery took until 2023. Spotify and streaming subscriptions did most of that work, replacing what CD sales used to bring in. LimeWire itself got sold in 2022 to two Austrian brothers who turned the brand into an NFT marketplace. It now sells AI image tools. In July 2025 it bought the Fyre Festival brand on eBay for $245,000. Gorton has publicly said he doesn't like any of it. Gorton's story: a Wall Street trader broke a $23 billion music industry from his side project. He walked away with his real business intact.

Roy Cooper pushed solar policies as governor all while his family stood to gain from the very policies he was pushing. North Carolina cannot afford Corrupt Cooper in the Senate.

Corrupt Roy Cooper pushed solar policies as governor all while his family stood to benefit from the very policies he was enacting. The people of North Carolina deserve answers. Why did Roy Cooper work to enrich himself while North Carolina families faced higher energy costs?

Disney is about to delete five years of canon because Rey doesn't move toys. The sequel trilogy did $4.47B at the box office. Force Awakens $2.07B, Last Jedi $1.33B, Rise of Skywalker $1.07B. The merchandise tells a different story. Star Wars merchandise peaked at $700M in 2015 when Force Awakens launched. By 2019, the year Rise of Skywalker shipped with a billion-dollar marketing push as the supposed finale of the Skywalker Saga, Hasbro's Star Wars line was doing roughly $150M. A 70%+ collapse during the trilogy's own theatrical run. Then 2020 happened. No new movies. A streaming show legally unavailable in most international markets. Hasbro's Star Wars revenue grew 70% year-over-year. One character named Grogu outsold three years of sequel-trilogy merchandise. The sequel cast specifically can't move inventory at any price point. Rey, Finn, Poe, Rose, Holdo: Walmart clearance for years. Diamond Select's president said sales on TFA and TLJ products "were not too strong." Hasbro silently stopped producing Rise of Skywalker figures mid-line. There is no mass-market action figure for Poe, Finn, Lando, unmasked Kylo, Palpatine, or Leia from that movie. The licensees gave up before the trilogy finished releasing. The Lucasfilm acquisition was a $4.05B bet on the merchandise flywheel that built modern Hollywood toy licensing. Kenner's best year selling Original Trilogy toys, adjusted for inflation, outperformed the entire Disney era combined. That's the asset Disney bought. Galaxy's Edge runs the same play. Over $1B per park to build a Star Wars land set on a sequel-era planet nobody cared about. Both parks underperformed projections. The Mandalorian-themed expansion now under construction is the admission. If the rumor lands, this is the most expensive retcon in entertainment history. Five years of IP development written off because the licensees voted with their order books. Luke, Han, Leia, Vader, Boba, Mando, Grogu, Ahsoka generate revenue. The sequel cast generates returns.

This will never happen. If you think they regret the sequels you haven't been watching the shows they have been producing. Lesbian witches howling at the moon isn't a sign that they think they did anything wrong.

Not one “left”-leaning news station reached out to me during the disaster. They pretended it wasn’t happening because Biden was president and Cooper was governor, failing us badly. I was up there for months and never once saw a CNN camera or MSNBC crew. Now, over a year later, they want to create some wild narrative. They weren’t there, so how did they know? I, however, was there. The only people being selective about who they helped were FEMA. I saw no racism; no one cared who you voted for. We were all just surviving and serving. A couple of liberals, @HistoryBoutique and @mattvanswol, took me in when I was sleeping in my truck, fed me, and gave me rest. Anyhow, back to things that matter. MSM is not one of them.
Erin Derham@HistoryBoutique

Shawn Hendrix came into Western North Carolina to help after a natural disaster. Is he a “white nationalist” 60 Minutes? He continues to deliver gifts to orphans in Black Mountain. He still suffers from health issues from being around moisture and mold. He took a chance and partnered with Matt and I, a liberal couple at the time. He showed us love, kindness, empathy, but more importantly, he brought his survival skills to my community. We were safer having him here and are better humans now for knowing him. A MILLION legacy media losers would not equal one of him. SIT DOWN!
