@shruwdshru True a free world where people can do what they want and are rewarded forheir strengths does suit me, just like a world without arranged marriage suits hot people and not indians

“IQ is the most well-supported construct in psychology” is a nonsense phrase IQ is a measurement system. It’s like saying “Fahrenheit is well-supported.” Does he mean reliability? IQ is certainly reliable—the same person will get very similar scores across time & different tests. But that’s not a very flashy claim, so I assume he means something more substantial than that. Maybe Hunter means IQ tests have a high construct validity? But this is actually quite contested and always has been; IQ is very well-correlated with performance on other standardized tests (like the SAT or GRE), which makes sense because they’re…also time-pressured standardized tests. So, performance on IQ tests can predict performance on other, similar tests. That’s not nothing! But it’s not very grand, either. IQ is less well-correlated, but decently correlated, with educational achievement (grades, matriculation, etc). Also makes sense, because school is full of tests. Beyond that, IQ tends to correlate very weakly with other forms of achievement, like income. It also has very weak (negative) correlations to things like crime—so weak that they often can vanish entirely depending on which controlling variables are used. In other words, IQ tests tend to predict extremely well how you do on tests; it predicts reasonably well how you’ll do in school, which is a part of life that’s full of tests. And, beyond that, it doesn’t predict all that much. So, is that really a high-validity construct? If you purport to be measuring a general test-taking ability, then sure, IQ is highly valid. If you think IQ measures something called ‘intelligence’, which is an all-purpose trait that expresses raw human potential and is incredibly important in every area of endeavor, then, no, it doesn’t seem to be a very valid construct. Anyway, when people use imprecise, grandiose language like this about IQ, I get the unavoidable sense that this is a big performative display. You’re supposed to think they’re smart, because they’re defending Smartness, as a concept, with great vehemence. And they use this kind of allusive, vague, but strident rhetoric, suggesting a deep familiarity with numbers and scientific findings. Idk, it’s all very…grasping. Striver energy.

People will say IQ (the most well-supported construct in psychology) is fake then believe in stereotype threat, intergenerational trauma, and emotional intelligence.

🚨 LMFAO! Elon Musk gives the most ELON answer to "what would you do if you started over with $1,000?" "It's somewhat of an impossible dichotomy, because civilization would have had to have been destroyed or something, in which case $1,000 is not going to solve your problems." "And if civilization hasn't melted, then I could probably just tell people to give me money, which I've done before." 🤣🔥 @elonmusk "A lot of things would have to go wrong for that to be the case. It's like, am I just emerging from prison, perhaps, with a stipend? All my companies have been confiscated." "I mean, it would take armageddon, which hopefully that doesn't happen, like Ragnarok next level, and I lost." "I mean, it's impossible for someone to have this amount of knowledge, all the knowledge that I have, and then be dropped down to a low resource amount." "Because the reality is that either something truly catastrophic has happened, like civilization has melted, or I will be able to ask people to just give me money, and with the promise that I will have a high return, which is what I'm able to do right now. Like if you give me a dollar, you will get back much more than a dollar."

I've lost 7kg recently through calorie control and exercise. Feels quite retro. If I was right wing, I would of spent thousands being juiced up on ozempic to look like a barely human skeleton. Being woke is healthy ☺️🥬
