LOL people who are futzing with cell phones and ensconced in leather bucket seats while driving 5000-pound soundproof steel boxes with six-speaker systems, entertainment screens, panoramic tinted glass, and truly monstrous blind spots have tips for bike riders to pay attention.
Esther K@estherckrakue

Cyclists, Stop wearing earphones and pay attention to the bloody road. You need spatial awareness to stay alert. Especially when you're cycling alongside cars. If we have to stay alert, so should you.

Anxiety tip: Next time you cringe over some embarrassing moment you had years ago try to remember other people's embarrassing moments. You can’t can you? That’s because you’re the only embarrassing human to exist, everyone else is always thinking about how cringey you are.

Moving forward, ICBC will NOT seek to recover material damages from cyclists, pedestrians, other vulnerable road users except under very limited circumstances. Decisions even on those ltd circumstances would be made by an expert committee rather than individual adjusters. (2/3)

@beansprouts_mom @DavidWa59907969 @Fraserhealth @CAPPEM2 There is some evidence demonstrating that COVID-19 can occasionally be spread via the aerosol route in specific circumstances. This is not known to have occurred in health-care settings, though aerosols are produced by certain procedures and then N95 masks are required.

wanted to show y'all this panel Spiegelman made for his retrospective on Maus. every time I look at it, I see myself in the mask, and feel the whole corpus of the story flooding back in a fraction of a second that resolves in a blurry maelstrom of futures that never got to happen

18 yrs ago I was playing in the English Women's Premier League... We used to have to pay £2/session to train. In the winter we'd often train on the grass behind the men's turf so we could steal some of their floodlights. Amazing to see how much the women's game has grown! 💪👏

100 years ago today, women's football was banned by the English FA. The ban lasted 50 years. Today, 41,000 people watched the Women's FA Cup final at Wembley 🙌

Really enjoyed @YahtzeeCroshaw’s latest book, WILL DESTROY THE GALAXY FOR CASH. Brings a Pratchett-esque sensibility to the more pulpy side of the sci-fi genre. Highly recommended both it and the first book in the series.
