This wonderful Ugandan wag tells me, “the world is unfair. Mao Norbert poked the bear [former Speaker Anita Among], but Oboth-Oboth who didn’t even shake the tree, looks likely to eat the cake [become new Speaker]”. I reassured him it’s a story as old as the hills. It’s why the Nigerians say; “Monkey dey work, baboon dey chop”

One day, S1, at Namilyango College, I wandered towards the basketball court… saw some students playing.. I decided to watch.. Marshal, now Hon Alenyo, threw me the ball and asked me to join them. That’s how my love for basketball started. He introduced me to playing the game. x.com/patrickoyulu/s…

5 Reasons to Keep a Rosary With You Each Day 🙏✝️ 1️⃣ A Simple Reminder That God Is With You Keeping a rosary in your pocket is a quiet way to stay aware of God during the day. Life gets busy, and it is easy to forget Him in small moments. But when you feel the beads, it can gently bring your attention back to prayer. Even a short pause to think of God can change how you respond to your day. 2️⃣ The Rosary Helps You Pray With Focus The rosary is not just an object. It is a way of praying through the life of Jesus. Each decade helps you reflect on moments like His birth, His suffering, and His resurrection. As you pray, you repeat simple prayers like: “Hail Mary, full of grace…” These prayers help calm your mind and lead your heart closer to Christ through the intercession of His Mother. 3️⃣ A Prayer Loved by the Saints Many saints had a strong devotion to the rosary. Saint Dominic helped spread this devotion, and Padre Pio was known to pray it often and encourage others to do the same. The Church teaches that the rosary is a powerful form of prayer because it keeps your mind on Christ. It has been passed down for centuries as a trusted way to grow in faith. 4️⃣ A Small Habit That Keeps You Centered Carrying a rosary is simple, but it can shape your day. When you notice it, you might: Say a short prayer Ask for help Thank God for something These small moments matter. They help you stay connected to God even when you are not praying a full rosary. 5️⃣ Help in Temptation and a Chance to Pray Anywhere A rosary gives you something to reach for when you feel anxious, distracted, or tempted. Instead of staying in those thoughts, you can turn to prayer right away. You can pray while waiting, walking, or sitting quietly. It also shows that your faith is part of your daily life, not something you hide. A rosary may be small, but it can help you stay close to God throughout the day. Do you think carrying a rosary daily would actually change your habits, or would it just become something you ignore after a while?

I’ll answer as a man formed by the Traditional Latin Mass, married, with four children, speaking plainly from lived conviction. I ask myself these questions often, especially late at night, when the house is quiet and the weight of fatherhood settles in. 1. Have my children ever seen their dad in Church? Yes. Not occasionally. Regularly. Intentionally. Reverently. My children know where I kneel. They know the smell of incense, the sound of Latin, the long silence after the Consecration. They’ve watched me bow my head when the priest says Dominus vobiscum. They’ve seen me receive Our Lord on the tongue, on my knees. Because children learn more from what their father does than from what he says. If a father treats Sunday Mass as optional, the faith becomes optional. If he treats it as sacred, so will they. 2. Have I ever led prayers at home? Yes. Not perfectly, but consistently. We pray grace before meals. We pray night prayers. We pray the Rosary Daily. Sometimes attentively, sometimes distracted, sometimes chaotic with small children squirming on the floor. And we pray anyway. Because a father does not wait for ideal conditions to lead. He leads in the mess. When I take the lead in prayer, I’m teaching my son that a man bows to God without shame, and my three daughters that this is what spiritual strength looks like. If Dad never prays out loud, the message is clear: “God is private, optional, and not worth public effort.” 3. Have I ever talked to my children about God? Yes. Naturally, frequently, and without embarrassment. I speak about God as real, because He is. I speak about angels, grace, sin, heaven, hell. Without cartooning them or softening the truth. The spiritual realm is not a metaphor. It is not “how you feel.” It is not “personal meaning.” It is war, order, hierarchy, and authority. A man who perceives this begins to master his life. Not because he becomes powerful. But because he submits to the proper authority above him. The Hard Question: Is Dad only the household head, or also the spiritual leader? Many men want authority without responsibility. Yes, the father is the head of the household. But headship without spiritual leadership is empty dominance. If Dad: never prays, never disciplines himself, never speaks about God, never orders the home toward Heaven, Then the home will be ordered toward something else. Screens. Comfort. Chaos. Or the culture. Nature abhors a vacuum. So does the family. Final Word (to Fathers) Your children do not need you to be eloquent. They need you to be visible. On your knees. In Church. In prayer. Under God. One day your son will ask himself: “Is God real enough for a man to build his life around?” And whether he answers yes or no will have far less to do with sermons, and far more to do with what he saw his father do. Lead. Quietly. Firmly. Faithfully.

30. The most powerful thing you can do for your psychology: stop seeking approval. The moment you need nothing from someone, they lose all power over you. Save this. Share it. Most people spend their whole lives waiting to be free. These 30 things give you the key. Drop a follow and let’s work.

However: Dont bite more than what you can chew. One step at a time. Small money at first then go as you increase the loan even if your collateral can get you more money, please don’t fall victim. It’s also not as easy as it sounds but it’s something I am currently doing and I know with in the next 10 years will have got me something.

When rich people talk about using other people’s Money to create wealth, they often don’t go an extra mile to break it down to a common person how they too can be able to do that. We are often left wondering how do I leverage other people’s money to better myself and that’s why I’m sharing this thread;

Let us reject the logic of violence and war, and embrace peace founded on love and justice—an unarmed peace, not based on fear, threats or weapons. This peace is disarming, because it is capable of resolving conflicts, opening hearts, and generating trust, empathy, and hope. I strongly reiterate: The world thirsts for #Peace! Enough of war and all the pain it causes through death, destruction, and exile! #ApostolicJourney #Cameroon

#Peace is not something we must invent: it is something we must embrace by accepting our neighbor as a brother or sister. We do not choose our brothers and sisters: we must simply accept one another! We are one family, inhabiting the same home: this wonderful planet that ancient cultures have cared for over millennia. #ApostolicJourney #Cameroon

Heavenly Father, thank You for strength that showed up on days when we had already decided we were done. Thank You for being the God who refills without being asked. Father, today we ask for energy that doesn't come from caffeine, sleep or motivation. Let a supernatural strength carry us through what natural strength has already tapped out on. "He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength." ~Isaiah 40:29. Father, You did it for Elijah. One meal from an angel and he walked forty days on that strength alone. Do it again for us. Feed us something today that lasts longer than the morning. Through Christ our Lord. AMEN.

Major cheat code for life: Learn to delay your reaction. Anger, fear, and impulse will try to make you move fast. There's power in pausing. In the pause, you see clearly, you respond wisely, and you avoid decisions you’ll regret. Slow down to speed up.

When the prophet Elijah was suicidal and exhausted, God didn’t send a sermon. He didn’t rebuke him for a lack of faith. God sent an angel with a snack. He let him sleep. Then he fed him again. God treated the "dust" (the body) before He spoke to the "breath" (the spirit). Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do today is take a nap or eat a meal.

If you went to church today, please pray for our country. We are facing a situation even more distressing than what we’ve seen in the past. Development should uplift people, not leave them destitute. Seeing small businesses demolished while hospitals lack medicine and corruption thrives is a sign of misplaced priorities. Uganda needs a change in focus instead of attacking the livelihoods of the most vulnerable. We deserve better.
