As the first mother to lead this state, I know firsthand the impact a lack of affordable child care can have on a family. We’re taking action to lift a huge financial burden off families' shoulders — including expanding the Child Tax Credit to include children under four.

I’m proud to share that we’ve come to a conceptual agreement on New York’s FY 2024 Budget. This is a bold, transformative budget that will help make New York safer, more affordable, and more livable. Here are the details:

For too long, we’ve underinvested in mental health care. Today marks a monumental shift in our state’s approach. We’re investing more than $1 billion to rebuild our mental health care system and make sure no one falls through the cracks.
