There's a rumor spreading today that Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo has passed away from cancer complications or serious health issues. It's unconfirmed—no official statement from family, reps, or major outlets yet. Past reports from colleagues like IK Ogbonna said he was fine and just off social media for a break. Likely another wave of gossip. Will update if real news drops.

@riittaaje Yes, different tribes have existed in africa from the beginning and will continue until the end. Being blacks does not take away our tribal identity. Yorubas remains the most devilish, rebellious, and dirtiest tribe in this contraption called Nigeria. We can never be one 🚫

Comparing drowned bandits to Pharaoh’s army sounds powerful, but it doesn’t fix the problem on ground. @ShehuSani, people are still living in fear. Villages are still exposed. Families are still counting losses. One incident doesn’t mean the system is working. It doesn’t mean security is fixed. This isn’t a movie scene or scripture moment. It’s real life. And until people can sleep without fear, nothing has really changed.

When people hear "loan", they often think debt. But credit comes in different forms, and when used responsibly, it can help you move forward; whether it’s starting a business, investing in education, or managing important expenses.

I doubt you would have been a medical doctor if your first 30 years was in the UK. You definitely won't have been able to afford it or would been indebted to the government of the UK to the tunes of over 70k pounds. In your 30yrs in Nigeria, the government subsidized your education and made it easy for you to earn the capital with which you embark on your 6yrs journey in the UK. The 30yrs in 9ja gave you a solid foundation upon which your growth in the UK was built. You should be smart enough to know this but social media validation trumps intelligence most times.

Just remembered that Peter Obi led to the increment of school fees when he was a governor, from N36k to N86k for non-medical students, and N120k for medical students. And some fees rose to over N230k. But also remember he said that "Education is not for the poor" in his defense for the unreasonable hike in fees. So it's not surprising that he is against food prices crashing while using farmers source of income as an excuse. Old habits die hard.

I see so many ignorant reactions in the replies. It is good to critique, but don’t let it make you obtuse and ignorant. Don’t let it limit your ability to reason. Before we rush to outrage: • Grid electricity at Aso Rock: ₦47bn/year • Solar investment: ₦17bn (one-off) • Projected annual power cost after: ₦311m Do the maths! You can’t complain about high cost of governance and have a problem with this. Reducing cost of governance isn’t magic, it’s structural efficiency. Going solar isn’t politics. It’s basic economics.

Good evening , The ADC online membership portal has now been deployed. Despite the many flaws in the current Electoral Act, it grants unprecedented power to members of political parties through the official digital register, No more super delegates, YOU are the delegates. Only individuals whose membership details are fully captured and verified in the Party’s official database will be eligible to vote or be voted for in the Party’s primaries. If you are fed up with the APC government, which most of us are, now is the time to act. Now is the time to get registered. Now is the time to get involved. Take the first step today: 1) Register (or re-register) on the ADC online portal. adcregistration.ng 2) Ensure your details are complete and verified. 3) Share your membership card once registration is confirmed. Power belongs to those who show up. Let’s organize, register and participate. They are the many we are the few. 🤝

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially commenced free online membership registration across Nigeria, following the successful kick-off of its nationwide registration and revalidation in Abuja last month. The new digital registration platform, accessible via adcregistration.ng, is designed to enable the party meet the requirements of the new Electoral Act 2026 regarding digital membership registers. Accordingly, only individuals whose membership details are fully captured and verified in the Party’s official digital register will be eligible to vote or be voted for in the Party’s primaries. Since the launch of the physical and grassroots membership exercise in February, we have recorded strong interest from Nigerians across states and the diaspora. Apart from meeting legal requirements, the introduction of the free online option is designed to remove barriers to entry, simplify enrolment, and ensure that every eligible Nigerian who wishes to identify with the ADC can do so seamlessly and securely. Members who have registered on the Party’s previous platform are also required to revalidate their membership on the new digital portal, as additional mandatory information is now required to ensure full compliance with the Electoral Act and INEC guidelines. Support groups and associations are also encouraged to take advantage of this window by registering at adcregistration.ng and completing the simple onboarding process. ADC would like to emphasise that this exercise is without prejudice to our firm objections to the provisions of the Electoral Act 2026 that give undue advantage to the ruling party, as well as the consequential INEC timetable. The African Democratic Congress remains committed to building a modern, inclusive, and citizen-driven political movement capable of delivering credible leadership and a better Nigeria that works for all.

No wonder they wanted real-time transmission of election results! Look at the people that they planned to use to vote for their Agbaje candidate! A party that cannot organise itself wants to organise Nigeria? A group that is unable to identify its own supporters wants to identify Nigeria's challenges. An association that does not know how to solve its own problems wants to solve the challenges of Africa's largest nation. Meanwhile, the same African Democratic Congress says it is better than the All Progressives Congress, which requires the National Identification Number as a mandatory step before e-registration to prevent fake registrations!!
