Probably the most important story happening right now has gotten virtually no attention. So let’s give it attention. Saudi Arabia and Iran— Sunni & Shiite Muslim— are sworn enemies, yet China just brokered a peace deal between them. China. But wait there’s more Saudi Arabia is talking about settling their oil trades in the Yuan, replacing the dollar. This is in spite of being allied with the US. But I’m not done yet. There is also discussion of Saudi Arabia and Iran joining the BRICS alliance. -Brazil -Russia -India -China -South Africa “But Josie what are the consequences of that?” That would mean all of the major oil producing countries in the world would be part of the same alliance. These countries also make up half of the global population. And I imagine there would be a level of protection safeguarding Iran from American invasion. Most apparent, there is no need or room for the US in this new boys club. There is no seat at the table of this super alliance. For those who cannot see the catastrophe The Deep State has made of our country, our values, and our global status, who take our Bill of Rights for granted, spend all the time and resources prosecuting political dissenters, and victimize themselves over sins they never experienced because they have it so damn good they have to sit there and make up ways to self exploit — I just don’t think there is any saving these people.

@christopherrufo @DavidSacks Why is it reasonable to bailout 250K plus deposits if it was signed and agreed on by both parties? If 250K is a small number then change the deposit insurance but to argue it is reasonable while legally signing into it makes no sense to me. The government has created a precedent.

@DavidSacks I'm a little confused by Vivek's position here. The resolution seems very reasonable: bank run averted, depositors secured, taxpayers not on the hook, and investors in SVB get wiped out. Seems like it avoids the main moral hazard problem.

This was not a bailout. During the GFC, the gov’t injected taxpayer money in the form of preferred stock into banks. Bondholders were protected and shareholders were diluted to varying degrees. Taxpayer money was put at great risk. Many people who screwed up suffered minimal to no consequences. Those were bailouts. Here, shareholders and bond holders have been wiped out. The @FDICgov insurance fund capitalized by premiums paid by banks will absorb any losses. The fund will recoup any losses by assessing more premiums on the banks. Had the @FDICgov @USTreasury and @federalreserve not intervened today, we would have had a 1930s bank run continuing first thing Monday causing enormous economic damage and hardship to millions. More banks will likely fail despite the intervention, but we now have a clear roadmap for how the gov’t will manage them. Bank boards and managements have received a massive wake up call. Being a director or CEO of a bank that fails is no fun: years of litigation, regulatory investigations, personal liability, potential civil and criminal charges, and enormous reputational damage. Our gov’t did the right thing. This was not a bailout in any form. The people who screwed up will bear the consequences. The investors who didn’t adequately oversee their banks will be zeroed out and the bondholders will suffer a similar fate. Importantly, our gov’t has sent a message that depositors can trust the banking system. Without this confidence, we are left with three or possibly four too-big-to-fail banks where the taxpayer is explicitly on the hook, and our national system of community and regional banks is toast. Our government did the right thing for the country. We are very fortunate it did so.

@DavidSacks We can also add to the list that Dr. Fauci lied to congress. Despite all of this he is still roaming free without any accountability to the decisions he made that reshaped the country.

Why is this story so important? It shows: 1) unelected government officials have huge power to pursue dangerous agendas. 2) rather than holding them accountable, corporate media cover for them. 3) tech censorship ends up promoting rather than suppressing “disinformation.”

@DavidSacks David, it's already WWIII. Some people just don't get it. Ukraine is only one of the dominoes. Putin wants territories of number of different countries, including NATO ones, with population of 300M—double that of Russia—to be surrendered under Russian control. It's a known fact.

From the beginning of the war, pro-Ukrainian partisans have been willing and eager even to escalate this into WWIII. A Lithuanian blockade of Kaliningrad has no value to the war effort — except potentially to draw NATO in. That is why they want it.
