The U.S. should never have been hosting the World Cup. Not only because they have little understanding of football culture ( which is ok) and keep trying to turn everything into a halftime show, but also because of the racism, discrimination,lack of infrastructure and the current state of the world. This World Cup just ain’t gonna hit the same. And that’s sad as hell. For the world, football is culture, passion and something people live and breathe. Feels like the whole vibe that makes the World Cup special is getting lost.😭

I missed my period and told the guy I was seeing. The man who constantly joked about "getting me pregnant." The man who said having his baby would be "the ultimate proof of love." Funny how some men treat pregnancy like a kink until it starts sounding like a legal and financial responsibility. A week later, I found out I wasn't pregnant. He celebrated. Actually celebrated. And in that moment, everything clicked. He didn't want a child. He wanted access to a woman's body without ever having to face the consequences that body might produce. Some people talk about wanting a family the same way children talk about wanting a puppy. They love the idea. They just don't want to be the one cleaning up after it. I ended the relationship soon after. The pregnancy scare lasted a few days. The ick lasted forever.

@GoetzItSold That was my point about our hosting infrastructure being insane. We’ve got freaking high schools with facilities good enough to host some of the best teams in the world while our “upper middle class” hotels are where they’re choosing to stay! By no means was I hating!

I love how we picture World Cup teams staying in luxurious hotels and training at the highest level professional facilities while really you’ve got Spain staying at the Embassy Suites in Chattanooga, TN and training at a high school! America’s WC hosting infrastructure is insane!
