⚠️ Indian Parliamentary Standing Committee on Science and Technology raise concerns over ISRO's pace of budget expenditure and project implementation of Chandrayaan-4, 5 and Venus Orbiter Mission, fears missing of deadlines. Out of 150 Cr. allocated for Chandrayaan-4 in 2025-26, ISRO had spent only 34 Cr. as of January 31, 2026. Out of 982 Cr. allocated for Chandrayaan-5, ISRO had spent only 58 lakh. A small seed money was provided in 2024-25 budget for Venus Orbiter Mission, which remained unspent. Out of 50 Cr. allocated in the 2025-26 budget, ISRO had spent just 5.12 Cr. When MPs asked about the under-expenditure, DoS officials told that it was "primarily due to delays in finalisation of mission design and availability of long-lead items required for hardware realisation."
