sadly Play is winding down its operation.
As a former survivor of similar solution (web.archive.org/web/2025042404…) (closed) - I found this information particular sad to hear. Play was great product with fantastic execution and value for designers and developers.

Merge conflict ux is coming to diffs[dot]com.
Below is a quick side by side of syntax highlighting using our diffs library vs. monaco (vscode).
Diffs[dot]com leverages a unique multi-pass rendering architecture so that syntax highlighting is correct across conflicting hunks.
We do this using web workers and then stitch the results into a single file view.
The result is proper syntax highlighting in all situations (unlike monaco who on the right is unable to correctly tokenize the "incoming changes").

We’re hiring a front-end engineer who can ship world-class product UI.
If you obsess over tiny UI details, care deeply about motion, polish, and performance, and can turn complex workflows into interfaces that feel effortless, we want to talk to you.
You should:
- Have a strong command of React/Next.js (or similar modern stack)
- Live and breathe design precision
- Care about craft: spacing, typography, states, edge cases, and speed
If you’ve built products that feel incredibly refined (or you’re confident you can), send me your best work/portfolio and a short note about what you’re most proud of.

@nicochristie Sweet - I'm confused though how did you implement "near perfect feature parity on excel". You re-implemented excel in a web app? Or there something else going on here...is there a open source / forkable excel i don't know about??

can't stop thinking about this.
a system that actually feels integrated with you, not just an addition. no other app solves this (i've tried them all).
i think because of my set of skills both in training and developing, i can solve this problem. it's going to be fun.
