It feels like an efficient typhoon factory. 😳 Northern Philippines and surrounding areas have already been hit by 4 typhoons since October 22 (in the past two weeks). Another typhoon is expected tomorrow, and yet another one may arrive by the end of the week. See the wind map from October 22 to November 15. 🫣🧐

You misunderstand the purpose of the long shower. I'm not doing anything in there. I am literally staring into nothingness and using the sensory input of falling water to temporarily wash away some of the horror of corporeal human life.

people who shower for 30+ minutes, what do you even do in there?? what makes it take so long for you to shower, genuine question

@MissLivingston_ It's not a sign of weakness. Teacher training is HARD. I had plenty a cry on my PGCE. Talk with your HOD, see what support they can offer. Does the HOY have any advice for any individual students? Speak with parents. Chip, chip, chip away - they'll soon realise you mean business!

@MissLivingston_ Classic!! Love that it stuck with you that long 😂 and that it piqued their interest. The key is to pull out the key info and ensure they're able to explain and elaborate on the why. Love hearing about your journey ✨

@MissLivingston_ Keep parents in the loop! Especially for positive behaviour and improvements, but also for negative behaviour. Refer to your HOD for support - departmental report, departmental detentions etc depending on your dept/whole school policies. You got this!!

I've been saying this for a while. The linear format at A level has really done humanities & arts dirty. There's a lot to be said for a broad, varied diet at post-16, and so many YP now are restricted and unable to access that due to linear examination.

Great thread if you're a geek for countries and facts like me 🤓
Tomas Pueyo@tomaspueyo
Here are the most FASCINATING facts I could find about Mexico: 1. Mexico is so huge it’s hard to comprehend. You can fit 30 European countries in Mexico and still have room to spare

Today 3yo asked, "Mummy, what's this song?" when @respektor came on in the car. "This is one of Mummy's favourites, it's Fidelity by Regina Spektor. Why, do you like it?" A big smile and nod from the back seat 🥰 big praise when our usual soundtrack is Peppa Pig and Cocomelon!

A very interesting read on UK demographics
Robert Colvile@rcolvile
Is Britain ready for the Baby Bust? My column this week is on, quite literally, the biggest story in the world - what's happening to population. Quick thread as some of the stats are pretty jaw-dropping (1/?) thetimes.co.uk/article/were-d…
