Hello my dear bro. You're are at a crossroads and their decision right now will determine the quality of your future. I know you fancy medicine and I won't discourage you, but you should know that medicine in this country at this point is shit. After becoming a doctor, you'd still need to Japa, own a hospital, a side business or work multiple jobs to be financially okay. As a nurse abroad, your path to financially freedom is both clearer and faster. Also, you don't have to worry about being kidnapped. But if your heart sings for medicine, go for it.

This is exactly how some Nigerian Doctors still want Nurses to carry tray ând follow them like dum baby. Don’t get me wrong, if I have a duty to perform as a Nurse, like setting up the trolley for a procedure or passing over an instrument to my doctor during a procedure in order to maintain sterility, why not? It’s my duty ând I was trained for it but carrying stuffs like this behind a doctor during ward rounds is archaic and primitive, though it’s very possible some of them (doctors) still operates like this in their different private hospitals. I am fighting to get: 1. 25/35% outstanding arrears paid. 2. House officers Professional Allowances implemented. 3. Promotion arrears for doctors in 60 hospitals across the country over a period of 5 years paid. 4. Salary arrears in UUTH Uyo, FMC Owo, FUHSTH Otukpo, OAUTHc Ile Ife ranging from 4 months to 22 months paid. Collective Bargaining that the FG set up to renegotiate Doctors and Health Workers Salaries has been stalled So yes, Don’t ask what doctors earn monthly. Rather, ask what our politicians earn monthly. Ask if there is any elected official that is owed 20 months salary arrears. Ask why? Then ask how many Doctors left the shores of Nigeria in 2025. It was >4,500 in 2024. In fact, the question to ask is how come we still have doctors in Nigeria?
