Fellow dairy farmers, I need suggestions. I need a system to keep track of milk feedings for our young calves (0-8weeks). Do you use a dry-erase whiteboard? Or something else? What kind of information do you record? (Photos would be appreciated). I value your input🙂Thanks!

The producer complains that he can’t donate it to a hospital or a food bank - but this is raw milk and there are food safety regulations around selling or giving away raw milk. If it can’t be processed then it can’t be given away.

It is always worth thinking about the status quo. We should, however, take disingenuous social media videos with a grain of salt and contextualize them before react. If we want better policy we need to be realistic on the pluses and minuses of the existing policy.

That happens in other countries too - those without supply management

The farmer knows what his quota is and farmers generally manage production to meet that quota. If they are over they usually are penalized for over quota but in very rare incidences like that in the viral video milk gets dumped.
