Excellent thread - @DavidDavisMP was extremely well briefed & @cheshirepolice have failed to address any of the substantive points that he made. Personally I lost any confidence in the Police after their documentary. On this case they have proved themselves utterly incompetent.

@LucyLetbyTrials Bohin backed up Dewi's theory that air administered through the ng tube is a credible murder method, yet Dewi then backtracked. The CPS have thrown out every single one of the charges based on her reports. Multiple families complained about her. Intense scrutiny is appropriate.

A note about this qualification that Dr Bohin, "by and large," agreed with lead prosecution expert witness Dr Dewi Evans. In the case of at least one baby, Dr Evans had found nothing suspicious about the care provided to him. Dr Bohin disagreed. So when it came time for Cheshire police to make the case that Lucy Letby had harmed this baby, Dr Evans' report got memory-holed, and only Dr Bohin's report got referenced. The case of this baby is one of nine in which the evidence gathered by police, according to a stunning statement in January by the Crown Prosecution Service, did not meet the evidential test for charging.

@LucyLetbyTrials Ooh. Cheshire Police adopt the wrong tone here. Casting aspertions on their detractors is not a good look. Also do they understand their role (to collect evidence and present this to the prosecution and court)? Their opinions on anything is really not interesting to anyone.

@LucyLetbyTrials Quite a big problem for the police line that much of the relevant information here is already in the public domain via Thirlwell. The more embattled their position, the more bombastic their rhetoric - and the more obviously unsustainable their position.
