The victims were identified as Rev. Ayuba Choji, his wife, Chundung Ayuba, and their two children, Cyril Ayuba and Endurance Ayuba. Residents said the att@ckers stormed the community at about 11 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, 2026, f+ring sporadically and forcing villagers to flee into surrounding bushes to save their lives. Few months ago, my friend was traveling to Gombe for NYSC. She said on their way, one of the passengers said he was pressed and needed to quickly ease his bowels. They we're in the middle of nowhere but the driver was forced to stop. He got down and went into the bush but never came back. She said they waited and waited but didn't see this man or any sign of him. They had to leave when it was getting dark because that place was risky.
