Peter Obi and Kwankwaso are not poor men. They don't need to use their money to bribe voters or give them bags of rice and garri. They should join funds together with all well-meaning Nigerians, and their party to: 1. Build a high tech central collation center and hire tech gurus to man it. 2. Pay volunteers and mobilization groups to cover for logistics. 3. Ensure that they have delegates in all 774 local governments (if possible) in Nigeria and all polling units who would live stream the results to the collation center. 4. Embark on massive grassroots awareness and campaigns across the country, especially in the remote areas of Nigeria. 5. Form an alliance with local and foreign media and alert them to any malpractices taking place. 6. Mobilize religious leaders to constantly campaign for them in the churches and mosques all over the country. The efforts would yield very good results. In my own little capacity, I am willing to donate N3m towards their campaign. Whether they win or not, I'll not regret it. End.

So Rotimi Ameachi and Hayatudeen thinks even if primaries are conducted in ADC today will they have a chance of winning? Definitely not that's why they're under pressure to all step down for Atiku. Peter Obi foresaw it and left the party for Atiku and David Mark to run their things, unfortunately deflection windows have closed so they've no choice than to remain in the party whether there are crisis or not. I hope everyone gets what they're bargaining for.

Anarchy looms!!! Where? In ADC. Within a matter of time the ADC may disintegrate into different factions. The party is hellbent on installing Atiku as its flag bearer, and Amaechi is insisting on primaries. The party stakeholders had signed a consensus for Atiku's presidency but Amaechi and Hayatu are not complying. Today, Amaechi had a heated meeting with the party chairman David Mark and the meeting ended in a deadlock... before Amaechi stormed out of the premises.

@akintollgate The reason why most of you people attend ward and LGA meetings is because you're jobless and you depend on grassroots $ and rice as you call it. I AM OK WITH MY MOBILE POLITICS. 🤝

Unfortunately, many young Nigerians on the opposition side of politics lack a full lifecycle understanding of how the political process actually works. The candidates they support often bypass the critical primary stage, emerging as flagbearers without having built any real foundation at the grassroots. These candidates rarely attend ward meetings or invest in building political structures at the ward and LGA levels, yet they expect a tsunami of votes on election day. If the average educated Nigerian truly understood how politics operates at the grassroots, they would better appreciate why Nigeria is such a complex nation to govern. A major challenge is the political superiority complex many young, educated Nigerians display toward their fellow countrymen seeing them as less educated, exposed, or living in poverty, but who actually lead political parties in their localities as chairmen or key stakeholders. These local leaders often determine the quality of candidates that eventually emerge for general elections. At the ward level, voting decisions are driven by deep primordial instincts or direct instructions from political establishment leaders. You hear reasons like “his mother is not from our village” or “his family was used as sacrifice 100 years ago.” Religion is frequently weaponized, even down to intra-faith lines: “He is Catholic, I will vote for my Anglican brother.” These parochial considerations often outweigh policy, character, or competence. Often, money becomes the unifying factor that helps factions reach consensus among delegates. Personal grudges such as missing ward meetings, refusing to buy a crate of beer at gatherings, or failing to attend a naming ceremony or funeral held months earlier of a ward chairman can decisively swing votes against a primary candidate. Even when a grassroots politician delivers tangible impact like building a local hospital four years earlier to serve impoverished constituents, party bosses at the state level can still instruct members, just two days before the primary, to vote for the son of a Governor who has never visited the LGA. Politics at the grassroots is brutal, transactional, and deeply personal. The next generation is not being properly socialized into this political system no thanks to opposition leaders who have mastered the art of bed hopping from party to party skipping these foundational processes, that leaves them ill-equipped to understand it deeply enough to reform and redesign it for the better.

The African Democratic Congress is deeply concerned about the continued detention of Mallam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai and his deteriorating health condition, following reports from his family alleging denial of medical access, restriction of food delivery, and disregard for a court order granting him access to his doctors. These reports, if true, represent a dangerous assault on his dignity, health, and constitutional rights. What is happening to Mallam El-Rufai confirms beyond all doubt that this detention is no longer about justice, it is about politics. It also confirms our fears that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is deploying the instruments of state power to keep one of the leading opposition figures out of circulation. This is political persecution dressed up as prosecution. When placed beside other high-profile cases, the contrast becomes stark and shameful. Yahaya Bello, former Governor of Kogi State, has been accused in an alleged N80.2 billion money laundering case. Ifeanyi Okowa, former Governor of Delta State, was arrested over the alleged diversion of N1.3 trillion in derivation funds. But today, they are walking around free, singing President Tinubu’s campaign song. Mallam El-Rufai was first detained in February after he voluntarily offered himself for investigation and trial. He was later arraigned after weeks in custody and granted bail in April. Yet, the government has contrived to keep him in detention perpetually. We state clearly: Mallam Nasir El-Rufai is President Bola Tinubu’s political prisoner. This alone brings the President’s democratic credentials into disrepute. President Tinubu cannot continue to masquerade as a democrat while presiding over the weaponisation of security and anti-corruption agencies against political opponents. Nigeria is not under a dictatorship. Therefore, compliance with the rule of law cannot be subject to presidential discretion. The ADC therefore puts President Tinubu, the ICPC, the EFCC, and all relevant security agencies on notice: they will be held responsible for any deterioration in Mallam El-Rufai’s health or any further violation of his rights. The African Democratic Congress has put in motion mechanisms, through every lawful means available locally, nationally, continentally, and internationally, to secure the release of Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, who, by every practical definition, has become a political prisoner in Nigeria.
