A hysterical white man in Butler PA started TEARING THE HOUSE UP WITH AN EXCAVATOR WITH HIS FAMILY INSIDE after his wife told him she wanted a divorce. The damage is so severe the entire structural integrity of the house may be compromised

calling lumpia a fake name for "spring rolls" when hokkien-speaking chinese people are the ones who gave it that name and introduced it to the filipinos is so fucking weird what a racist thing to say. so you're saying any name other than the english name of the dish is fake?
marquess of sandwich, inventor of@johnarbuckleamv

filipinos stole spring rolls from the chinese and gave them the fake name of lumpia. you hate to see it. they don’t even cite the hokkien or the fujianese OR the cantonese who came before them and just keep coming around with “lumpia” “recipes”. many such cases!

@strawbedokae @itmejaythree It isnt even that old and its 1000 years more advanced than you ? Damn i get why philipinos are crying so much. Living in the jungle for centuries eating bugs and you think thats a good thing. Why are philipinos so primitive and poor if you are so old and superior?

The correct takeaway from this is to recognize young, up-and-coming talent and not to make a creepypasta cinematic universe

At 20 years old, Kane Parsons may become the youngest filmmaker to have a film #1 at the box office in its opening weekend. ‘BACKROOMS’ is tracking for a $40M-$50M opening.

@Alex16790alAlex @tsarinatalia @Asulzilla That there is the issue. This person explains it better
Ray's failed mpreg attempt@paristanhell

@500minniemays @likhamartia @prettycritical He didn't make a new dish. He didn't invent a new thing. THAT'S THE PROBLEM. He didn't invent, he developed a recipe for a dish that ALREADY EXISTS. The least he could do was NAME THE DISH. He can call it vegan ube ice cream all he wants BEFORE or AFTER he's specified which dish

@ic28uc28 @tsarinatalia @Asulzilla Yeah. You’re arguing my point for me. The Ube guy didn’t invent or claim credit for being the first person to do something lmao. This is how recipe development works.

Filipino spaghettis are made with banana ketchup and not tomato. This recipe was made by Maria Orosa during WW2 in response to the food shortage, and this invention of hers have saved the lives of many Filipinos. Jollibee spaghetti uses the same recipe. Not the same situation.
Alex@Alex16790alAlex

@conxilius Bitch do you think Jollibees ever consulted anyone in the nation of Italy before making their spaghetti? This makes no sense, he’s just a person MAKING ICE CREAM IN MASSACHUSETTS.

@ic28uc28 @maka_dagat Yeah the best way to summarize all of this is : you all didn’t know what develop a recipe means in an American culinary context.

filipino here! instead of ube, u might actually want to try its alternative — kurot 🫶 almost the same as ube, purple-pigmented but richer, sweeter, and fuller in flavor. in fact, you can eat it raw unlike ube which requires a taxing preparation. foreigners should give it a try!

I worked really hard on developing a vegan ube ice cream recipe for work and look how pretty she is! Zero artificial colors or flavors, and maybe the perfect special to bridge AAPI and Pride months.

@ic28uc28 @The_Duck2219 @Jah00701222 @bedahmaneh @flirtaeyeon I also didn’t say all negative behaviour is misogynistic. We are commenting on a post about misogyny. So the negative behaviour in this case, is obviously the misogynistic comments made by the women in the post. It’s not difficult to follow.

@ic28uc28 @The_Duck2219 @Jah00701222 @bedahmaneh @flirtaeyeon Appealing, yes because ‘dismantle the patriarchy’ requires those who want to dismantle it, to appeal to factions of it to dismantle it. If men uphold the patriarchy, you have to get men on board to dismantle it. Again, very easy to follow. Ironically, you’re the one waffling.
