Hyvä ⁦@VuorelmaJohanna⁩ kolumni miksi ilmastonmuutos ei johda tiukempiin toimiin. Itse olen myös skeptinen kollektiivisesta vastuusta ilmaston suhteen. Sen sijaan ihan itsekkäistä kansallisista syistä monen maan kannattaa toimia nopeasti. hs.fi/paakirjoitukse…

The United Nations must not read their own IPCC report. The IPCC says nothing about parts of the planet becoming “uninhabitable.” The United Nations is a propaganda machine.

Venäjän liittolaisuus on lähinnä vitsi.

Svalbard, a remote arctic archipelago, holds inconvenient secrets about our climate history. A new study reveals it was up to 9C warmer around 10,000 years ago when CO2 was just 260 PPM. Despite this warmth though, glaciers didn't vanish. They survived, supported by increased snowfall. Svalbard then cooled for the next 8,000 years while CO2 kept rising. Today's climate models project the same 8 to 9 C of warming by the year 2100 and predict widespread glacier loss. But that directly contradicts the historical record. Even the study's authors admit the future may follow the past. Warmer, wetter conditions could bring more snowfall, stabilizing or even growing glaciers. The fatal flaw in climate modelling has raised its ugly head once again. It can't replicate history. And when the past contradicts your theory, it's the theory that's broken, not the past.

20 years ago in your film, “An Inconvenient Truth,” you predicted that: - The Arctic Ocean would be “ice-free” by 2013. That didn't happen. - There'd be no more snow on Mount Kilimanjaro by 2016. That didn't happen. - Polar bears would be dying out. That's not happening; in fact, most populations are relatively stable. - Lake Chad would dry up due to global warming. It is drying, but decreasing water levels are mostly due to growing population and increased drawdown. - The melting of the Greenland and West Antarctic ice sheets would cause sea levels to rise by 20 feet in the “near future.” That didn't happen, it definitely won't happen anytime soon, and is pure exaggeration. I could go on and on. . . The only thing you got right was that it has continued to get [marginally] warmer since your movie came out, and that the atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO₂) level has risen to over 400 parts per million (ppm). Almost everything else is pure exaggeration, if not an outright lie.
Al Gore@algore

Twenty years ago, after the release of “An Inconvenient Truth,” I invited 50 people to gather on my family farm outside Nashville, Tennessee. We came together, empowered by science and concerned about the dangers posed by the climate crisis. We believed then, as I do now, that informed and determined citizens can help drive the transformative solutions our planet urgently needs. That gathering was the catalyst for The Climate Reality Project. Over the past two decades, I have watched with deep gratitude as thousands of Climate Reality Leaders stepped forward to become champions for science-based solutions, inspiring others and driving climate action around the world. Now, 20 years later, we’re returning to Nashville, Tennessee. On May 1–2, I invite you to join me and Climate Reality as we celebrate this milestone and recommit ourselves to the necessary work ahead. And as part of this anniversary year, we’ll also gather and train leaders in Chile and Singapore to continue building momentum worldwide. The climate crisis demands courage and commitment. Join us in Nashville and help shape the next chapter of climate leadership. Register here: bit.ly/nashville2026

Geologist Prof. Ian Plimer comprehensively dismantles the human-induced climate change narrative. "It was much warmer [than today] a thousand years ago." "And then we entered the Little Ice Age... And since the Little Ice Age ended, what do you think happened?" "It's going to warm up, isn't it? And that's what's happened." "So the real question is, which part of the modern warming is of human origin, and which part is natural? Because we are not as warm as in medieval times, or in Roman times, or in Minoan times."

Billions of people are currently surviving in temperatures between 45 and 50C. This is "only" at a 1.5C global increase. At 2C, these regions will become unbearable for long periods of the year. The lack of a coherent plan for this is shocking. #Mitigation is urgent. Action is necessary!
