@GbombM75819 @NEEDZMOAR @cderedpanda @hasanthehun a worker who supports immigration restrictions because it keeps labor competition down isn't being tricked they're correctly identifying that more labor supply lowers their wages. The ideology obscures the mechanism but the underlying material interest is 100% real

Perceived? 😭 There's nothing perceived about an 8x wage differential. Thats a measurable, real, material benefit that exists regardless of whether the worker is conscious of its source. You people say anything to act like the American workers are poor little exploited babies who are being betrayed and deceived jfc lol

western imperialism doesn’t serve the people it subjugates & destroys, it doesn’t benefit the people carrying out the violence and it’s doesn’t benefit the people living in the imperial core. it only benefits capital. it’s time to do away with empire & focus on ourselves

East Germany was better by some metrics and worse by others and it also existed under Soviet imperial relationships which is its own conversation but even if we grant it was better, that proves socialism is preferable to fascism, it doesn't prove workers received zero material benefit from imperial plunders like that doesnt even follow lol

Temporary gains are still gains that's literal the whole point. You also literally claimed German workers didn't benefit from imperialism at all so. The Northern workers received above their productivity value DURING the imperial period(as long as it goes on plundering and exploiting countries), which they did, it doesnt matter if it's temporary. Nobody is saying fascism was good for workers in the long run. The argument is specifically that imperial plunder created a material basis for working class loyalty to the imperial project, which is why the getman working class didn't revolt against Nazism the way classical marxists predicted they would.

Every recruit signs up knowing the mission includes offensive wars not just “defense" no one is dragged from their home, they wait in line at a recruitment office, often lured by benefits, job training and college money. Who are the real victims? The civilians in countries being bombed. Soldiers enjoy American citizenship, legal protections, a paycheck, healthcare and veteran benefits. You're telling me the soldiers who murder civilians and then are celebrated and given benefits when they go back to their country are "victims" just like the civilians that got killed?

🇵🇸 On March 26, the FBI and NYPD disrupted what they described as an imminent attempt on Palestinian-American activist Needeen Kiswani’s life.  Alexander Heifler, a 26-year-old from Hoboken, New Jersey, was arrested and charged with the unlawful possession and manufacture of firearms and destructive devices. Authorities allege Heifler was building Molotov cocktails to firebomb the Staten Island home of the co-founder of Within Our Lifetime (WOL). @NerdeenKiswani spoke today at a press conference in New York City. She said: “For years, I and so many other Palestinian organizers have been the target of coordinated harassment, threats, stalking, dehumanization. Organizations like Betar, and individuals aligned with them. Organizations like the Jewish Defense League have spent years targeting Palestinian activists through harassment, intimidation, and violence, and targeting me specifically. In 1985, a Palestinian American civil rights leader, Alex Odeh, was killed when a bomb exploded at his office. Decades later, no one has been held accountable. The suspects fled, and those responsible have lived freely in Israel. Exactly what the attempted assassin tried to do to me.” 🎥 Filmed by contributor A.B. Youssef [@t_p_i_p]

The capitalists capturing the profit doesn't mean workers are unaffected by the price suppression on the input side. Cheap raw materials lower production costs which keeps consumer prices lower for Northern workers than they would otherwise be snd again northern manufacturing workers still get paid 8x their southern counterparts processing the same commodity chains that wage differential has to be explained somehow

@GbombM75819 @NEEDZMOAR @cderedpanda @hasanthehun Workers act in their perceived material interest and when your wages are partly subsidized by southern exploitation,l defending that arrangement IS your material interest in the short term. There's nothing nonsensical about this and it's just very simple fucking logic.

the second point is just history. Northern workers absolutely have collaborated with capital against the south and there's a material reason for it. Protectionism, immigration restrictions, union drives that explicitly excluded colonial labor supporting imperial wars that kept resource prices cheap. The AFL-CIO was actively backing US regime change operations during the cold war and now theyre Israels greatest soldiers as well.

German workers real wages and living standards rose during the height of Nazi imperialism in the late 1930s and early 1940 exactly bc of imperialism. The nazi regime bought working class loyalty through redistributing stolen Jewish wealth and extracted resources from occupied territories. Consumer goods, subsidized food, welfare benefits were literally all funded by imperialism. The decline came when the imperial project collapsed militarily because hitler made a fake war economy that couldn't sustain itself without expansion and plundering. You're utterly clueless about everything you speak about.
