New fresh WIP of an upcoming website dropping soon this June. It’s a mix of bold visuals, traditional structure, and something entirely different from what I usually create. Soon.

@DannPetty It’s so funny cause every studio owner I chat to says they have way more work than they can handle and finding great designers is super hard. Time to stand out through quality.

@JordanGilroy @gilhuybrecht yeaa, cuz flat is based on how human brain works, and whatever ios is now is based on 'oh look light flare how pretty'

@gilhuybrecht The thing that worries me the about it is that it feels like a short-term trend. It doesn’t have the longevity that the previous ‘flat design’ overhaul had.

I often ask myself if companies are just redesigning stuff for the sake if it. Take this glass ios for example, it feels like the main reason for the redesign was 'it's been to long the same'. Which I don't believe is a good reason. When something is good, can't it stay good?

@AlexAperios @gilhuybrecht Seen this take too, couldn't disagree more, it's like they saying 'VR gonna be inaccassable af'. Like if I have a notification in VR i have to find some dark place to read the white text, instead of just having dark bg for white text lul

@gilhuybrecht I've seen a take that it's to get us to adapt to more VR type stuff. Focussing on VR UI wouldn't surprise me if they launch something new soon. But yeah I'm not a personal fan of this change because we are bored type stuff. But then sometimes great design comes from change.

I installed iOS 26 beta 1 on my main device so you don’t have to. These are the highlights: #WWDC25

I'm 29, and when I worked full-time at the office I made $1500 / month) It was ok. Now I'm a freelancer and I can earn from $0 to $5-7k/month working 1-3 hours a day. And it's awesome when you have a lot of free time to do different things. And even I will be make $100/months, it still be better than FULL-TIME and 5 DAYS of WORK))
Maox@maoxai_

I’m 27. I make €2,600/month working full-time as an AI engineer in France. It’s comfortable, but I’ll never get rich from it. That’s why I’m building on the side. To buy my freedom.

I’ve tested Figma Sites more thoroughly. Here’s what I’m thinking so far: Pros: 1. Great for quickly testing hypotheses and layout grids; 2. Saves time launching very simple one-pagers; 3. Decent responsiveness and even allows embedding maps, videos, and third-party scripts directly. Cons: 1. No CMS (at the moment); 2. No basic SEO settings; 3. No way (at this point) to work with more advanced plugins like three.js, GSAP, WebGL and etc.; 4. Inconvenient for clients when updating this kind of site; 5. Lacks advanced optimization (you can only rely on what Figma gives you); 6. No-way to launch any e-Commerce on it. It seems like in the future this could be a solid alternative to Readymag or something similar, but it’s still a long way off from Webflow or Framer. We’ll see how it evolves, but it’s definitely worth keeping an eye on.

@idrewui haha, I just find some typeface is not properly built, that's why choosing the one being crafted properly is important, that's my point. Some typeface being crafted with care, some just created for the sake of being done. That's why knowing which is which is important.

Your typeface is 50% of how your design will look like. Choose it super wisely.

@stevelauda_ Because everyone thinks of them as a forbidden font, so no one here wants to even come close to them, comic sans is really playful and can be used in like a candy store branding (which I've seen before) or similar topics, and 90% of twitter copy laste saas designs so lol
