Minnesotans are getting tattoos of the rebel loon—a symbol of resistance against ICE. mspmag.com/arts-and-cultu…

@antonioguterres Not true. It's a service like many other things. If you can pay for it, you can have access to it. Just because it exists doesn't mean it's a new "human right" you get to claim.
*Should* folks have access? Yes.

Minnesota taxpayers fund millions in Medicaid spending — including:
• Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT)
• Medical Interpreter Services
Trip-based billing.
Time-based billing.
Layered vendors.
This is a high-risk structure if not actively monitored.
Basic safeguards should be routine:
✔ Verify a medical appointment occurred before paying transport
✔ Match interpreter time to actual encounter
✔ Flag duplicate billing
✔ Run cross-program analytics
This isn’t complicated. It’s program integrity 101.
DHS leadership says they are “tackling fraud.”
If so:
Where are the published audit summaries? Where are the complaint trend reports? Where are the corrective action updates?
Taxpayers fund the oversight salaries too.
This isn’t about attacking providers.
It’s about protecting Medicaid and state funds.
Minnesotans are paying for oversight.
Oversight must be visible, documented, and enforced.
Is that too much to ask?

@ChuksHarvey @ianmiles Clearly you haven't been introduced to our county attorney... That's a fun one to dig into.

U.S. counties with the highest and lowest rates of excessive drinking.
The map draws on the most recent annual data from the CDC’s Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System and the County Health Rankings & Roadmaps program. Wisconsin’s elevated drinking rates are influenced by a mix of historical, cultural, and policy factors.
Large waves of German immigration in the 19th century helped cement a strong beer-brewing tradition, particularly in Milwaukee, which grew into a major brewing hub with companies like Pabst, Schlitz, Blatz, and Miller, all founded or shaped by German immigrants. Tavern culture became ingrained in both urban and rural communities, supported by relatively lenient alcohol laws, long winters, and social life often centered around bars. Fittingly, the state’s Major League Baseball team is even called the Brewers.

@amyklobuchar Tax credits required by your broken health system to make it "affordable". You knew it would be like this. Do better.

The ICE budget that Republicans passed into law does not reflect the values of Minnesota or of America. The $75 billion extra that Republicans gave ICE could have funded three full years of health care tax credits to lower costs for millions of Americans.
The American people have had enough.
