I have seen a few platforms offering stablecoin FX feeds for emerging markets but I’m not comfortable relying on centralized sources I strongly believe we need a decentralized source of truth for price feeds in emerging markets currencies I’m open to working with the team @Ifalabs to make it happen (cc @blockopsx) I have worked with the team @ chainlink as a Node Operator so I know what it takes The future of Onchain FX depends on a credible, decentralized source of truth

Base is for local stablecoins 🇿🇦 ZARP, the South African Rand stablecoin, is now live on @Ifalabs. Developers can now access ZARP price feeds and swap across cNGN (🇳🇬), BRZ (🇧🇷), USDC, USDT, and more local stablecoins on Base.

Similar to how cNGN started, then ZARP, Ifa Labs is making accessing price feeds using local stables easy for any product. Powered by @base.

Hi @wayne_axia8 - following up on your feedback during the Mantle Global Hackathon demo day. We appreciate the thoughtful feedback/ questions and the reference to @MentoLabs, checked them out - phenomenal work 🫡 For context, the relevant segment of the demo day replay is frame [1:34:30 – 1:38:15], here x.com/i/broadcasts/1… We’d like to clarify a few of the questions you raised around IFÁ Labs: First of, IFÁ Labs is an onchain oracle (a data layer), we do not issue assets. We are the data source for already existing assets, especially the underserved ones. 1. Why do we need a stablecoin onchain FX oracle? Most local stablecoins in emerging markets (e.g. cNGN, BRZ, ZARP, IDRX) are systemically excluded from major onchain oracle networks due to strict listing requirements. Yet, these assets are already being used as a settlement layer for cross-border platforms. Without trusted onchain FX pricing, developers/protocols are forced to rely on offchain data (the problem with this is that offchain data sources are susceptible to manipulation). IFÁ Labs exists to fill this infrastructure gap. 2. How is pricing formulated? We aggregate and normalize asset price data from different verified sources (FX markets, issuer data, and DEXs), apply validation and sanity checks, and relay this data onchain through our audited oracle contracts. All price updates are transparent and publicly auditable, allowing protocols to verify how prices are formed and relayed at any time - we have a page on our website where that can be done. 3. Who uses the oracle? Our users are builders, developers and protocols working with emerging-market assets like  local stablecoin, MMF instrument, and RWA. Example usecases are: stablecoin swaps, lending/borrowing protocols, RWA tokenization, and onchain money-market products, exchanges. Just like chainlink, our focus is to support verified / compliant assets that are underserved - typically in emerging markets. Thanks again for the feedback and the opportunity to clarify.
