Igala share ancestry with Ijebu people of southwest while most south-easterners are Igala by blood
Heis@Heishush01
@igalacentric Do igala share ancestry with igbos or Yorubas?
English

@247IGBO Nothing concern Edo and Ibo una never even accept Ebonyi as complete Ibo na Esan una wan kun accept Esan Dey marry ibo people dats all we have in common
Filipino

Esan is more close to Igbos than Yoruba. We are closer to Igbos. Our culture is same, our women tie two wrappers, our chiefs wear red caps, our foods are the same, we have boundaries with towns in Anambra.
~~~ Esan man, to a Yoruba.
Why are they always looking for people to join them to face Igbos?
English
@Chude_ND1 Continue fooling yourself, wait for the census in the next 70yrs , you will be minorities in Nigeria, while your neighbors are expanding with multiple wives & kids you are busy building trap for your unborn children. Christianity is the worse thing to happen to igboland.
English
This is a very sentimental, impractical and dishonest opinion, because I know you as an educated Morden women, you will not comfortably be a 3rd wife to a man.
Secondly, there’s no proof of decrease in Igbo population, for whatever reason. The Igbo population have grown by over 700% in the last 100 years even with the increase in monogamy. This is fact.
Lastly, adoptation of Monogany is not just an Igbo thing, it's world wide! Driven not just by religious belief but mainly by civilization evolution, Social stability, and Socio-Economic structures.
E.g, 100-150 years ago, A man at 18, already has his small low budget house, and farmland given to him by his community, and ready to settle down. By the time he's is in his late 30s, he is already a grand father. Meanwhile in today’s world, some Men in their 30s are still squatting with their friend in a one-bedroom apartment.
Ifeoma Igbotic@IfeomaIgbotic
Igbo men listen 👂 As an Igbo man you are meant to marry more than one wife.
@David48777 @Chude_ND1 That is what the Lebanese thought 50yrs ago but today the story is different
@Therealmiyagi @ifeco234boy @polyglotodulesi Their civilization is actually a function of Ajayi Crowther's incursion.
Though they've existed for like 600 years ACEPHELOUSLY and at the mercies of their IGALA, Benin and Ijaws neighbours. Or shall we say LORDS.
English
Ó dàwó in yoruba means it collapsed. In Igbo Ọ́ dàwó means same thing, like a wall collapsing.
Ibà means malaria in both languages.
Àṣirí means secret in Yoruba but means gossip in Igbo.
Stone is Òkúta in Yoruba and Ọ̀kwúte in Igbo.
Àkùkọ means a male chicken in Yoruba while Ọ̀kúkọ̀ means chicken in Igbo
There are lots more from ear Etí/ntì to mouth Ẹnu/ọ́nu to nose imú/ímí etc.
I do not by any means suggest that we are from same root or not. This only highlights how languages still find a way of sharing similarities.
I hope my tonal marks are good.
Aiyetoro, Nigeria 🇳🇬
We have a serious problem in Igbo land. Most people in my generation can’t speak Igbo.
So we’re organizing an Igbo Sunday in Church and more than half of the young Igbos, even the millennials, can’t speak the language.
It’s actually embarrassing.
We need to actively find ways to correct this.
English
It means you're stupid,gbo means ancient.
Ndigbo means ancient people.
English
@ifeco234boy @ObiOfAguleri @polyglotodulesi Don't be emotional.
Go and ask questions.
In Anambra as we speak, there two local governments whose people are purely from IGALA.
Before weatheral road in Owerri, there is a community there.. look up the name and interpret it.
The Okar people are blacksmiths from Akoko .
English
@EHINDEROAYOMIKE @ObiOfAguleri @polyglotodulesi The whole south east is IGBO land and territory and their is nothing anyone can do about it
