Last week we were delighted to welcome @jackclarkSF ,Co-founder of Anthropic, who spoke about the progress of AI and the ethical considerations we need to make. Thank you to Jack Clark and the legislators who were able to join from the UK, Canada, Tanzania and Trinidad and Tobago

Great to meet with @UNTechEnvoy @gioasempre at the @ITU #AIforGood conference in Geneva today. We discussed the need for international cooperation on AI safety rules and the role that @ifemergingtech can play in supporting legislators across the world.

Delighted to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between my @ifemergingtech network and @UNESCO in Geneva today. I’m looking forward to working with @gabramosp and her team to support legislators around the world on the ethical implementation of artificial intelligence.

I asked @EU_Commission Vice President @MarosSefcovic if: 🇬🇧🇪🇺🇺🇸 The UK, EU and US must work together on AI security risks, and 🇬🇧🇪🇺🇺🇸 If the EU might invite the UK to take part in its Trade and Technology Council discussions with the US. The EU answer is to work via the G7.

A thanks to legislators too for contributing to a critical conversation around international cooperation and governance. We gained valuable insights from the discussion with legislators from 16 countries including the US, Tanzania, the Gambia, Portugal, Ireland, and New Zealand.

We're so pleased to be involved in the @UN_Women event on the 'Coded Gaze' of Generative #AI at the Intersection of Gender Equality and Racial Justice on 13 March. IFET director @TMTwright will be speaking on a panel including @phumlambongcuka, @epsycampbell and @wthANTIGUAMARIE.

During the event in Mexico, she also outlined the intention to change the name of the Institute of AI to the Interparliamentary Forum on Emerging Technologies (IFET), reflecting the wider challenges now facing the world in emerging technologies regulation.
