@ifyouignorethis @YisraelChaiAdam I'm not sure that's correct, otherwise it wouldn't even go to trial. This is juries deciding that the "the climate emergency" these idiots believe in is a valid reason to commit criminal damage. It is essentially a perverse verdict

The jurors should all be imprisoned
Novara Media@novaramedia

A jury has acquitted six medics who smashed windows at JP Morgan’s European headquarters in London to protest its role in funding the fossil fuel industry. The jury returned a unanimous not guilty verdict at Snaresbrook Crown Court after deliberating for just under four hours. The defendants did not dispute that they broke windows, but denied criminal damage on the grounds their action was “proportionate and necessary to save future lives”. A statement issued on their behalf said the defendants acted “amid a worsening climate and health emergency driven in part by JPMorgan’s extensive financing of fossil fuels extraction”. The July 2022 action at the Canary Wharf office came amid a record-breaking UK heatwave linked with over 1,200 excess deaths in four days. The medics cracked eight windows using small hammers and chisels before sitting in front of the office with signs that read “In case of medical climate emergency, break glass.” Following the verdict, defendant Dr Juliette Brown said: “Medicine says we are duty bound to intervene when we see a looming threat, to take the most effective action to save a life, even if it involves breaking the rules.” Maggie Fay, another acquitted defendant, said: “I am so very grateful to the jury for their bravery and really listening to us, and for their attention.” The other medics were Dr David McKelvey, Dr Alice Clack, Ali Rowe and Dr Patrick Hart. This was their second trial, after the first in 2024 ended in a hung jury. JPMorgan Chase contributes more money towards fossil fuel industries than any other bank, the defendants’ statement noted, having invested over $384bn into the sector since the Paris Climate Agreement in 2016.

@hollyoclayton 💯. I’ve bought tickets via ticket exchange a few times this season and the original purchaser gets the points, not me

@breezy_345 My perfect scenario is to sell Delap for £40m this summer and have Jackson as our second striker. It’s worth noting that any sale of Jackson won’t help with our deal with UEFA

On a personal level, people who have been following me for a long time no exactly how I feel about Nico. I think he is very frustrating, talented, but often lets you down with his inconsistent finishing & form. I would still take him as a second option over Delap.

@GayTory @lukerobertblack I still watch GB news but the Reform slant is too obvious. It’s a shame as the bbc needs competition, but you cannot be an MP and host a daily show. Even less a party leader

Believers in the metric system genuinely think 568ml, an absurdly specific amount in their own terms, was stumbled upon by accident. Trial and error over centuries of hard boozing led us to the pint.

@albieamankona Exactly this. Boys don’t know how to act like a man, the girls don’t know how what treatment they should aspire to. I want my daughter to find a man one day who adores her like I do my wife

I was six years old when my father chose to leave me & my sisters. That decision followed me into school. Into friendships. Into adulthood. It shaped my confidence, my mental health, my sense of worth. Yes, we reconciled. He apologised. It has been healing and life-changingly positive and I am grateful. But let us speak plainly. This impacts black families more than others. In the UK, around 63% of black Caribbean children and roughly 44% of black African children grow up in lone-parent households. Those are appalling statistics. We cannot talk honestly about inequality, crime, education or mental health without talking about fathers. When fathers leave, children pay. They internalise rejection. They question their worth. They carry instability for decades. We debate every other social problem loudly. But we whisper about this one. We should be demonising absent fathers more than any other bogeyman in society. If you are not prepared to stay, do not have children. Be the man who stays.

In the UK, 2.5 million children don't have a father figure at home and there's been a 40% rise of more young men out of work since the COVID pandemic. @JasonFarrellSky takes a look inside one school's push to support struggling boys. Read more ➡️ trib.al/1tQt4Yp

🔵WHY IS EVERYONE SUDDENLY JUMPING ON THIS 2-3 DAYS LATER? 🔹️The kids are briefed, so shame on the grifters making it more than what it is 🔹️These kids are mascots for Hull 🔹️They were wearing Hull kits waiting for the Hull Team to arrive 🔹️The players do 'acknowledge' them on the walk-outs, on the pitch pre kick off. Also get photos/memorabilia after the game, too. 🔹️Sportsmen don't tend to 'Smile & Wave' whilst they are trying to focus on the upcoming game and work on their mindset 🔹️Players are not obliged to do 'meet & greets' before games - this is done AFTERWARDS 🔹️The players walk out to the pitch with the young Mascots, holding hands & hi-5's - not exactly ignoring them I'll be honest, I understand how it looks from a 10second clip to those who have never watched a football game... I totally get it But to everyone saying "They should smile", like I said above, I have never seen Anthony Joshua come out waving or smiling? Or a tennis player before a match? So why is it always footballers that get this sort of attack? This happens EVERY SINGLE GAME so its a bit silly that this has suddenly been made into a big thing now Chelsea agenda is real

On today’s episode of fake outage alert! Players zoned in,headphones on, walking straight in front of them & then shook hands with them all on the pitch pre-game. It’s not like any of the players looked at them, blatantly ignored?! Makes me wonder how some cope in the real world!

It's wild how so many modern adaptations are dripping with contempt for their male fans. Making women unattractive is not feminist. Laura Croft's hotness and charisma is a central part of her character. This is like making James Bond fat, short, and awkward around women.
Pirat_Nation 🔴@Pirat_Nation

Sophie Turner says Lara Croft is no "sex bombshell" in new Tomb Raider show “It’s about her and her story and what drives her, rather than what so many people also love about her, which is how hot she is in the games and the movies.” “But I really want to show the other side. She’s so unashamedly capable. She is not a woman who hides her strengths at all.”

@cfcxhayley Yes that’s true, but it would only have taken Delap for the others to notice. I get it, it’s hard when you’re focused to notice everything, but it’s not a good look. It’s not as bad as the Arse ignoring a girl holding a shirt for them to sign for charity
