Thank you for all of your lovely messages. After 5 years at Times Radio, and 4 and a half getting up at 2.50am at the weekends, I need a change. I can’t say much more for now, but I’ll keep you updated on my exciting next chapter

@YvetteCooperMP Wibbly, off-the-shelf statement. How about applauding the bravery of upstanding Iranians and calling on the Islamists clinging on to power to engage peacefully with the citizenry and/or move out of the way?

@TimesRadio There's a "very real possibility" that we're all going to die. This individual has chosen to accelerate the timing for himself by not eating. Seems bonkers to me, but each to their own.

“He's been experiencing significant difficulties with breathing, with his heart rate. We are really, really worried." There is a “very real possibility” that Palestine Acton hunger striker Kamran Ahmed could die as he nears 60 days without food, says his lawyer Katie McFadden.

Oh, now we’re onto the Israeli “genocide”. Well done Cate Blanchett and @BBCr4today Lucky there hasn’t been a recent scandal about the BBC’s anti-Israeli bias and promotion of antisemitism.

@zarahsultana @DavidLammy I expect ambulances have important cases to deal with. The only transfer this person needs is a transfer to the prison canteen (if she wants a bite to eat).

Reading this interview with my wonderful friend @RachelReevesMP the UK’s first female Chancellor reminds me why she means so much to us. She’s breaking barriers, standing firm, and showing my daughter (and her friend) that dreams matter. Proud. thetimes.com/uk/politics/ar…

@Canellelabelle It will be easier to get a financial judgement from the BBC for President Trump in the UK than here in the U.S. The lies broadcast about him after the stolen election & the J6 setup, cost not just financial loss, but loss of reputation on the world stage.

I missed this news but the BBC, amidst their legal issues with the US president, has issued an apology to the Princess of Wales following the public backlash and numerous complaints they received after disrespecting the Princess in their coverage on Armistice Day🔥 The response reads: "We received complaints from people unhappy that we didn’t use the Princess of Wales’s correct title during our coverage of Armistice Day" "During our coverage of memorials to commemorate Armistice Day we mistakenly referred to Catherine, Princess of Wales as Kate Middleton; these were errors during hours of live broadcasting for which we apologise. Throughout our Armistice Day coverage more broadly, we referred to Catherine by her correct title." We do not care what you did more broadly. "Kate Middleton" never attended the Armistice day. Catherine, the Princess of Wales did. As I have said, Catherine has earned her spot in the British Public's heart because she has demonstrated that she is genuinely a caring and decent human being in that entire Royal family. So if you come for her, she will not need to defend herself, it is her Public who will make sure you get the message😏 Anyway, the BBC and their twisted coverage have "millions of pound" in bigger problems at the moment than this trite apology; and I, for one, am gloating of delight...🤭

@rosaltmann Thank you for this. Not running out of money if one lives to be very old should be an obvious and central principle in financial planning. As you point out, the motivation created by a system where there are onerous IHT consequences of dying young runs counter to that.

I can't warn strongly enough of the disastrous impact the Government's IHT pension proposals will have on the future pensions of ordinary people. Warnings are being ignored but it's not too late to make changes. Read my thoughts. pensionsandsavings.com/government-iht…

"There needs to be a meeting... to agree a plan for how they might return to work." Sir Charlie Mayfield, chair of the Keep Britain Working review, says the UK needs to 'reduce the dependency on GPs' for fit notes with 'better supporting structures' in the workplace. #R4Today

Rachel Reeves speech: “It is important people understand the financial challenges facing the UK. I am a silly moo who has tanked the economy with my last Budget which crushed growth, closed businesses and drove up unemployment. Whoops! In my new Budget I will raise taxes to try to repair the damage I caused. “But I’m so incompetent I’ll make it worse!”

It shows how desperate things have become for the Chancellor that she feels it necessary to give a speech at 8am today - just 3 weeks ahead of the Budget. We are used to pre-Budget leaks a few days before the statement, but this plumbs new depths in breaching Budget “Purdah”.

I welcome Leeds City Council's decision to expand their selective landlord licencing policy to include the Armley area. While many private landlords operate in the right way, we know that lots of private tenants in Armley face problems with poorly maintained housing. (1/3)

@RoyalDickie True enough, but it is up to the royal family and/or Crown Estate if they want to induce Prince Andrew to move. If there's a deal that works for everyone then great. Otherwise, just leave him alone and allow the lease to run down for the remaining term.

I see it's reported today morning UK newspapers that Prince Andrew is demanding two residences if he is to move out of Royal Lodge - Frogmore Cottage for him and Adelaide Cottage for ex wife Sarah Ferguson. Andrew & Sarah have cohabited since 2008 - they divorced in 1996 - if Andrew can't do without her then carry on cohabiting, albeit in a smaller residence. They just have to make it work. It is not up to The King to house Ms Ferguson.

Dr. Rahma Al-Adwan: “Because of one lecture in July and three social-media posts, I am now under house arrest, banned from attending any protest or public event in London related to Palestine or ‘Israel.’ I must notify an investigator if I leave my home for more than 48 hours. Yesterday, the judge even prevented me from reading a single sentence in court, and the General Medical Council asked me to remain silent. This is what political persecution of a doctor in Britain looks like today.”
