I just want to shout out a really good friend, Ibrahim. I struggled with the best way to post about this. Because I want to express my gratitude to Ibrahim, and also let everyone know how deeply another person‘s actions can impact you. Speaking from the perspective of someone who really really wants to help others and do the right thing, I can say that it’s a difficult job finding the right people. When you start the journey to find real people who have a passion for helping like I do, there are many dead-ends and forks in the road. I’ve made mistakes. I’ve had disappointments. That’s how life goes! Ibrahim, I can’t say enough how fulfilling it is to have someone like you who is patient, and takes the time to get to know me. You worked hard for my trust, and I worked hard for yours too. Establishing trust between two people is always difficult, even more-so when you are crossing oceans! I’ve cried several times watching this video. Because it feels soooo good to see something nice happen for a change. It gives me hope. Ibrahim is proof that there are good people out there who want the same things that I do. Caring and helpful people MUST find a way we can work together. Because the world needs it! And I promise: if we work hard enough, people will see us for who we are inside, no matter our past or where we are from. If you have made mistakes, you can make that change today! Right now, in fact, just by making a decision to be better. This might surprise some people, but trusting others is hard for me! But I choose to do it anyway, even when I’ve been hurt again and again. Because it’s important. It’s important to have hope! So I’m putting out a call. I’m calling out to the hearts of those people who’ve been burned 1000 times. I’m looking for those people who lost hope like I did, many times over! There were days that I woke up and felt hopeless. Countless days like that… So it’s important to me going forward that I work hard to preserve the legacy that Thurston built. He stands for determination. He stands for defiance in the face of adversity. He stands for joy and excitement. He stands for righting the wrongs. These are all things that I still see in my fellow humans on earth, every single day. We can do this. But it’s gonna take hard work. It’s gonna take teamwork. And it’s gonna take commitment.
