So...I have one of those Instant Ink memberships with @HP. I bought a new HP printer I would like to add to the service. But @HP's buggy-ass website and app will not add the new printer. Calling tech support led to an automated message telling me to use the website which doesn't work. Isn't this supposed to be a leading tech company?

There is no one program. Affirmative action is a label applied to many different approaches aimed at increasing opportunities for underrepresented groups, often those who have been historically marginalized. One of the biggest problems in discussing this issue, is that many people don't even know what Affirmative Action programs are or how they work.

@Deggans If you can point to, after decades, a lot of bad applications of the program, it needs to be improved. The fact that it is still such a need is, in and of itself, proof of that. It's done plenty of good, and this isn't a rebuke of the notion of racism or systemic racism in the US

@jeremiah4dc Is it wise to build up new transit infrastructure based on 2019 commuting patterns or adjust to a new normal based on more dispersed commuting needs of work-at-homers? We need to rethink public transit based on what is clearly a new normal.

@jeremiah4dc I hear you @jeremiah4dc . I also see the two Metrobuses in the graphic, so the jury is still out on whether this is really only about making K Street car-friendly. There are bigger issues at play, though, about the future of DC mass transit given declines in downtown office use.
