Two individuals who thought they could get away with harassing girls on the street quickly found themselves at the police station holding their ears in regret. A heartwarming moment from Bengaluru has reminded people why the city is often called one of the most caring and responsible urban spaces in the country. A woman travelling late at night from the airport to Kadugodi on a BMTC airport bus found herself in a vulnerable situation when she reached the Kadugodi bus stop around 3:00 AM. At that hour, the streets were nearly deserted, and finding a cab proved to be extremely difficult. Understanding the situation and prioritizing her safety, the BMTC bus driver went above and beyond his duty. Instead of leaving immediately after dropping her off, he chose to stay back and ensure that she was not alone in the middle of the night. He waited patiently with her as she tried multiple times to book a cab, showing genuine concern and responsibility. Even after several attempts, when she couldn’t find any ride, a Rapido bike rider happened to pass by. Seeing her situation, he stepped in to help without hesitation. He agreed to drop her home, which was around 3 km away, ensuring she would reach safely. After reaching her destination, when the woman asked how much she should pay, the rider humbly refused to take any money. He simply said it was his duty and responsibility to ensure a woman gets home safely at night. His response reflected kindness, integrity, and a strong sense of humanity. This entire experience left the woman feeling deeply reassured and grateful. From the BMTC driver who stayed back to protect her, to the Rapido rider who helped her reach home without expecting anything in return both individuals set a powerful example of compassion and civic responsibility.
