@DailyNoud Meek Mill and GitHub in the same sentence is wild. I never thought this day would come
English

Let’s address this properly with actual facts:
Linguistically: The root جهد (j-h-d) means striving/exertion. The Arabic word for war/fighting is قتال (qital), a completely different root. The Quran uses BOTH deliberately.
Lisan al-Arab, the most authoritative Arabic lexicon ever written, defines jihad as “expending effort.” Not war.
The scholars you claim are authoritative: Ibn al-Qayyim listed over 20 types of jihad, including jihad of the heart, tongue, wealth, and sword. Ibn Taymiyyah, Al-Nawawi, Ibn Qudama in Al-Mughni, none of them define jihad exclusively as war. All place strict conditions on qital (fighting) that severely restrict it.
On Reliance of the Traveller: It covers jihad al-nafs, dawah, and commanding good alongside warfare rules. Citing one chapter while ignoring the rest isn’t research, that’s confirmation bias.
The Prophet ﷺ himself returning from battle said: “We have returned from the lesser jihad to the greater jihad, striving against one’s own soul.” (Referenced by Al-Bayhaqi)
Now turning it back to you: Which Arabic lexicon, Lisan al-Arab, Qamus al-Muhit, Taj al-Arus, defines jihad exclusively as war against non-Muslims? Name one classical fiqh text that opens with that definition. You can’t, because none do.
Disagreeing with Islam is one thing. But misrepresenting a 1,400 year scholarly tradition as a fringe conspiracy isn’t a position, it’s ignorance.
English

Perhaps you should conduct your research on authoritative Islamic doctrine from the same Islamic texts Muslims teach Muslims from. All schools of doctrine define it as war against non Muslims. Commercial texts regarding Islam are generally written by Muslim Brotherhood affiliates to confuse non Muslims on the true meaning. The book quoted, Reliance of the Traveller has been written in English and was done to educate English speaking Muslims on requirements. The preface includes documents from Al-Azhar University and other Islamic scholars authenticating the text.

Sunnis, do you hear this?

@imaadmalikk @shahidknows @raythewarchief the most powerful positioning is if nobody even knows or it’s not obvious that muslims own or operate the infra behind this tech.
1) protects your company from anti muslim sentiment targeting within the industry itself
2) people skeptical of muslims will continue to buy from you
English

All muslim founders with projects drop a comment with your product and I will repost and show the love.
I have gotten Islamic founders over 3000 new followers in just a few days (yes I counted)
Let’s all help each other and rise up ⚡️⚡️💪🏽🦁🙏

The Muslim world is 1.8 billion people. 25% of the global population. In Nigeria, over 70m Our tech infrastructure looks nothing like that. No Muslim-majority equivalent of Stripe. No halal-native investment app. No Islamic knowledge platform with serious engineering behind it
English

@abbas_xyz @shahidknows @raythewarchief absolutely, need to stop the “for Muslims by muslims” and start doing “for everyone by Muslims”
English

@imaadmalikk @shahidknows @raythewarchief you would’ve said the same thing. using a 6fig domain feels premium but at its core it’s just another muslim product that nobody outside our universe can take seriously *because* of the branding
English

@abbas_xyz @shahidknows @raythewarchief i was sat here like finally someone said it then realised it’s you bruv
English

@shahidknows @raythewarchief why is it called this? if it’s an alternative to stripe, it should be not be built FOR muslims, it should be for everyone

@noahzweben @trq212 can this be accessed via terminal also or just web/app?

@OmarChoudhry That’s what VisionOS will be
It’s why they created “Liquid Glass”
To calibrate their users’ eyes to a system where it’s just a pair glasses, hands and voice.

You don't need a cloud API for great OCR anymore.
GLM-OCR runs locally with just ~2GB VRAM, handles tables, math equations, and hits ~260 tok/s on a Mac Studio M2 Ultra.
Local models are getting better AND smaller at a crazy pace. If you have a GPU or a Mac, you're already ready for the AI era.

@UltraLinx Stripe processes 1.5% of Global GDP. Will be interesting to see how close Whop can get, if they can

Wait so this is a proper competitor to stripe?

We tell ourselves the work is ibadah.
If you’ve been working through Ramadan you know the feeling.
Everyone else is in the masjid or doing extra worship and you’re on calls or finishing something off telling yourself this counts too.
So why does it feel empty?
Work can be ibadah no doubt.
But how much can we really feel comfortable with our intentions if we’re not giving.
I think what’s healthy purification for that heaviness is sadaqah. And I mean for us more than the cause honestly.
My brother Sifat just came back from Syria. It’s a very good project الحمد لله.
I can tell you there’s a video of him vlogging the actual work on the ground you can see exactly whats happening.
I can tell you I love their work and I can vouch for it personally.
But honestly those are secondary. When you give and not just this cause give selfishly. Give for yourself. You need it more than they do.
Because your salvation is needed. We have too much to account for that we’ll be asked about.

@imaadmalikk @80smuslimbaba @Shuayb__ We are taking on different levels. I see no benefit arising from this without me spelling things out to you and I don’t have the inclination for that.

So we have a new Islamic lender offering home finance in the UK. They use commodity murabaha widely. Their new home purchase plans are, of course, charging rental rates at prevailing interest rates.
Muslims just love Riba and making it halal in every way possible.
And boasting about it non-stop publicly.
