Red Dead 2 really is an awesome game but I can’t help laughing at how the reviews were like “A moving meditation on the damage violence can do to the soul and constant struggle to redeem oneself” and then you check your stats, and it says “Kills: 3,289”

The whole point of the public presentation was to present an increasingly two-tier service provided by more and more beak-wetting business mates in the “independent sector” as definitely *not* privatisation, so I don’t think we can be too harsh on the punters for not spotting it.

It’s not about the talent distribution, it’s about the global nature of the competition. Of course the best leagues will have a concentration of the best talents, but that’s still not a global competition.

Very few things get me to defend American sports, but the NBA discourse is one of them. The talent difference between the NBA and EuroLeague (or CBA) is so much further than anything in soccer. Top 8 euroleague scorers are all Americans who couldn’t sniff a roster in the NBA
