@theskindoctor13 Govt should give management and building of metro cities infra to reputed real-estate builders like embassy in Bangalore and equivalent in other metro cities. This is the only solution.

Delhi's Aerocity is a perfect example of what's possible if you remove the corruption and lethargy of sarkari system from the equation. The place is spotless, wide, smooth roads, proper sidewalks, neat greenery, uniform signage, no overflowing garbage, no random encroachment, everything feels planned and functional. Why? Because it isn’t cursed with our great municipal system. It’s privately managed, with efficient upkeep, accountable staff, and infrastructure built for lasting quality, not temporary fixes. And perhaps there lies the real answer to our civic woes.

This seems to be a recurring issue at the Fortis Hospital branch on Bannerghatta Road, Bengaluru. Patients are often admitted for minor ailments but never make it out alive—especially elderly individuals. A few years ago, an elderly man was admitted for a minor stomach problem. His condition gradually worsened, eventually leading to multiple organ failure after a month. His wife, much younger, stayed with him as an attendant in the same hospital. Over time, she developed severe anxiety and, after performing her husband’s last rites, she too succumbed to illness and passed away similar manner in same hospital. Both died within two months—and in that time, the hospital billed them over a crore. It’s not always the doctors who are at fault, but rather a system that incentivizes prolonged hospital stays and inflated bills. In contrast, hospitals like Narayana and Manipal are rarely known for such practices. One wonders why people still choose Fortis.

@GavinSBaker @thejefflutz Similar tariff talks and tweets were in 2018. These things lasted for few quarters and then no one was bothered about these after Dec 2018. It seem that this time that it will be for short duration and people will settle and call it a win.

Spoke to a lot of other fund managers this weekend. HF, LO, Macro. Many thought a crash was a realistic possiblity, which I rarely hear. Probably the most negative on a forward looking basis I have ever heard such a broad swath of investors in the last 25 years. Quite something given tech bubble in 2000, GFC in 2008, Covid and 2022. Good to remember that it would only take one “Truth Social” post backing off tariffs (we have negotiated some good deals) and a little bit of policy stability to start the pendulum swinging the other direction. Or 4/2 being anything other than absolutely terrible. Time will tell.

Air pollution in North India is a national emergency—a public health crisis that is stealing our children’s future and suffocating the elderly, and an environmental and economic disaster that is ruining countless lives. The poorest among us suffer the most, unable to escape the toxic air that surrounds them. Families are gasping for clean air, children are falling sick, and millions of lives are being cut short. Tourism is declining and our global reputation is crumbling. The cloud of pollution covers hundreds of kilometres. Cleaning it up will need major changes and decisive action - from governments, companies, experts and citizens. We need a collective national response, not political blame games. As Parliament meets in a few days, MPs will all be reminded of the crisis by our irritated eyes and sore throats. It is our responsibility to come together and discuss how India can end this crisis once and for all.

During my second order, I realised that we need to work with malls more closely to improve working conditions for all delivery partners. And malls also need to be more humane to delivery partners. What do you think?

Wall Street analysts are getting @Tesla wrong again. People don’t want to buy cheaper car. Analysts can take reference from Tata Nano India (2000$) car, it did not see good adoption and project got closed. If elon is prioritising robo taxi, it is there and just tighten your belt.

We migrated our platform to Digital Ocean thinking that it will be good and stable platform. Considering it is public listed company. But we were wrong just after 1 week of migration. Our systems are down from last 30 mins @digitalocean
