She emphasised the Constitutional values- justice, liberty, equality & fraternity, while highlighting the role of the NHRC, along with education, media & inclusive governance, in building a just and harmonious society.

She later addressed a programme by Samverdhini Nyas, organised in collaboration with Khenjonglang on co-existence, social harmony & Constitutional morality. She said these values represent the unity in diversty, which is the foundation of democracy in India.

NHRC Member, Smt Vijaya Bharathi Sayani met Manipur CM, Sh Y. Khemchand Singh on 29th April 2026 to discuss the human rights situation in the state. She was informed about factors behind the conflicts & the state’s efforts to support children, women, elderly & vulnerable people.
